I noticed there are manufacturers in China selling their version of Ekowool. The original Ekowool is sold by a company based in Poland & Russia. There are obvious quality differences between the two types and I shall do a comparison of the two.

A side by side view
The one on the left is Made in China while the one on the right is original Ekowool from Europe. From first looks, The MIC one is less tightly braided then the Europe version. MIC also feels softer like the shoelaces on Bata Shoes. So the Europe one maintains its shape better
A zoomed in view of the braids
Not much differences here except that the Europe one looks immensely better. However the Europe one seems to be more prone to splinters of glass fiber maybe because of they are tightly braided.
Summary
I have not tested the physical application of the 2 because I don't have anything that is silica based rba. However I would guess that Europe one would be longer lasting in a real world application because of its solid construction.
