Yesterday I sent an email to my Chinese Supplier and asked him if he could assure me that his juice is not toxic. I told him about the FDA finding toxins in the juice they inspected.

He replied as follows:

"Hi ,

This is really a bad news. Could you please provide more information about the FDA announcement?

All our e-juices are made and filled by Yunnan Dekang, which the biggest e-juice manufacturer on the world. Their products have covered 90% of the e-juice market. They guarantee that their e-juices don't have toxic substances (except for the nicotine). Actually they are applying for the FDA approval now.

Thanks.

Yours sincerely,"

Just had a quick read through the report. Basically says that there were, in some cases, "very low levels" of tobacco compounds other than nicotine in the juice detected.

No surprises. There are limits to how pure one can make one constituent relative to the others.

The nicotine levels were more or less as stated though some 0% nic juice did have a tiny amount of nic.

Some supplies web sites clearly state that they can't promise their Tobacco flavors to be absolutely 0 nic...

We are talking about 1/30 of 'low' nic.

So a low nic juice of say 10mg would compare with 0.5mg '0mg' nic, at most. It's very difficult to remove the nicotine while keeping the tobacco flavors.

If one really wants absolute 0% nic, forego the tobacco taste. One can easily make this oneself, in fact.

That doesnt really say that SE got theirs from Aboom, though. Dekang also makes a 555 blend (I know because I have it in stock)

Yes, you are correct about both making 555, however, all Boge/Dekang carts plugged with rubber caps, and SE’s sealed with foil. Unless I’m missing something, the Aboom is the only company manufactures foil-sealed carts.

Please don’t take this info literally; I would want to mislead anyone. This is the info I have.

thank you for the more detailed info. Much appreciated and it does make it appear that they may indeed be the mfg. in question.

The DEG (DiEthyleneGlycol) found in one sample - no figure given. 'Detected' could mean an amount as low as 0.1 part per million, or even lower. As no figure is mention, only 'detected', it seems that the level was of that magnitude - i.e. extremely tiny.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I heard that the report claimed that one cart had a DEG level of <1%. Unless they are more specific about what <1% means, it could mean anything. It could mean 0.09% or it could mean 0.000000001% down to lower limit of precision of the test methodology they used. I have not had time to personally read the report. Does anyone have any pertinent information in this regard.
