That and the affordability mech mods and rda's gives to the users that can't afford one of the chipped mods that will allow the enjoyment of lower resistance vaping.
Yeah, beginners can pick up one of those iTaste types pretty cheap but have you ever vaped those things?

I know for some the Hanna mods and other types are nice but Idk if you can even compare those to mech and a good rda.

I am a mech guy through and through. I had an iTaste VTR and a Provari but I sold them as I never used them. Most of my builds are in the .4-.7 Ohm range, so using a mech makes sense for me. I personally enjoy the process and of figuring out where my resistance should be to optimize my vape in accordance to what my battery is putting out....Chipped mods do all of this for you which is nice, but I like figuring it out on my own. Makes it fun IMO....Plus I also prefer the aesthetics of mechs....

The O.C.
Why the tribalism?
Mechs are my first true love.
Nothing will ever touch them for form factor and sheer reliability.

But what is wrong with progress and the convenience of technology?

I love vinyl records too BUT cant argue with the thousands of songs I have stuffed into my phone via MP3.

Besides..

I give it 2 years TOPS before you can order a 100w regulated mod for 40 bucks from FT that aint half bad.

Assuming we don't see the end of days for commercial vape products I have a hard time believing mech popularity will not curtail in the near future

here in california we go cruisin'. the air-conditioned, auto everything that holds six passengers stays in the garage while the obsolete one with no cup holders gets to show off its stuff.

my APVs (like most imo) are ugly, so they are in-home use only.

I didnt consider religious artifacts.

I doubt that many religious artifacts can survive as much abuse as a Provari can. I've dropped mine a few times, no problem. I still haven't dropped a mech, tho...

I seem to be treating my mechs more gently for some reason. Mabye out of religious reverence?

I dropped one on Mother's Day onto the concrete patio of a restaurant after I ran outside with it, trying to hold it in my blistering hands (still have the marks) after it had been firing for who knows how long. That was a very scary experience. That's one upside to regulated mods with safety features.

It's okay to drop a mech if you get too much nirvana from crossing two mods while praying to the vaping gods to bless you with vape nector. It's allowed. :D

I thought lock rings are safety measures? lol ;)
No worries it's happened to me as well being careless. Burned my crumb snatchers a couple times.

Yeah, they are safety measures. :) I'm just stupid sometimes.

(Actually it was more of a lesson in "even if you think you have the situation controlled, anything can happen." The mod has a recessed button so when not in use I put it in a pocket in my messenger bag, by itself. It's a pocket that's higher than the floor of the bag and there's no pressure on the bottom button... UNLESS your mother, sitting next to you, puts her heavy bag on top of your bag, pushing the mod down onto something else in the bag, letting it fire continuously until you mention to your boyfriend that it smells like they burned something in the kitchen and he says "It smells like a coil, ha ha.")

When I finally came back and a few minutes later said quietly to my boyfriend in a pitiful little voice, "I burned my hands..." he said he didn't even know what happened, he thought I just went outside to vape. I said "I was not stopping to have a conversation about it." :p It was REALLY hot. I still have an imprint from the RDA on my palm. I don't know how long it was firing, but it was hot all the way to the bottom cap, which was stuck (I had to get the top cap off to get the battery out). Lesson #2: Make sure there's always a bandana in your bag to wrap a mech in when it turns out it's too hot to hold with bare hands - glad it was in there.

Anyway, I'm still using my mechs but I have an even deeper appreciation for the safety features on my Provaris. :) They are fairly idiot-proof and I am often an idiot.
