That is all very positive. I wonder if he is headed towards a vet science career.

He says he doesn't know what career he wants to pursue yet, so he is thinking of going to a community college for an associate's degree while he decides. He still has time in high school, though, so he may know better in a couple of years.

Wow! 4 hrs since last post. Looks like Rave is a thread killer. I hope all goes as planned with the legal :censored:

I'll try helping you with the recoiling but I'm still learning the rayon myself.

I found out today that the FHA interest rate is 4.5%. That's higher than what was original estimated and I'm not very happy about it. If they keep dragging this thing out it could be up to 5% before everything is said and done. The appraisal was done yesterday but my lender hasn't heard anything yet. Once she gets the appraisal it could be another week before we know when it closes. My stress level is about to explode.

Oh heck no! You can't lay killing the thread on my doorstep! ECF was giving many of us fits yesterday afternoon. I couldn't do anything at all outside of the Notifications area. It was weird. There were a couple of posts on FB about it. Not my fault!

Sorry that the FHA interest rate is more than you were expecting. :( Hang in there, my friend. This'll all be over soon and you'll be on your merry way to Indiana!

Yeah, it has been a slow day at the old ranchero in Voltville.

Yep, buying a home definitely is stressful!

One of the projects I am working on today. I'm recovering these chairs with an old Mexican blanket. I'm missing one of the chairs. I wonder where it would be?

I finished the trim on my kitchen insets.

I also finally did the last two wooden cover plates for the kitchen. Stained with Golden Oak and put up.

Washed up the couch covers. I won't put them back on the couch until Sunday so they will be hair free for the BBQ.

I had to pick summer squash and cukes. I fed the big ones to the goats.

I think it is lunch time and then I have some more to do's on my to do list.

What you're doing with those chairs is so cool, Lizzie! Wow! Hope you find the fourth chair. You will, I'll bet. As soon as you put away the materials that you've used to finish the first three.

Busy as always.

Good morning Voltians. I see everybody's in party mode already. :) Going to be near record heat here today and I've got to work. Maybe I can get most of the hard stuff out of the way before it gets too hot. :) Hope y'all have a bodacious day now and party hardy. Rave is one of the pioneers of the vaping community and deserves the best.

Good morning, Wuzz and other Voltdwarves.

Work, it's a four letter word!

Looks like I better get my stuff done today since Hubby and I have been invited to the ice cream social at the horse trainer's house on Saturday. He said to bring a salad. I think I'll make a cucumber, tomato and onion salad from the garden and bring some melons.

We have a wagon load.

Looks like I'll be freezing melons today for smoothies this winter.

Oooooh - MELONS!! Those look great! If you have a few to spare, you can share 'em with ME!! :p

Good morning Voltpeepdwarfs, I hope you all have a glorious Wednesday. :)

Does anyone else get physically tired just "watching" Lizzie work or is it just me?:p

rofl.gif It's not just you. She's inspiring!

BTW - Ma Nature gave me her own spectacular Vaperversary gift last night. I was honored to experience literally hours of non-stop lightning and rolling thunder. There were no pauses in the thunder or the light show. It just kept goin' and goin'. All of this with a minimum of rain and little or no wind. For me, it was the perfect storm. Well, except for the fact that the power kept going off and on. But, that didn't bother me. I'd turned off all of the electronics and just laid back and watched the show.

And now ... it's starting again.

Found the fourth chair, it was in the wood shed:)

And I left all the gear out so I could do the one last chair so good thing I found it. I haven't gotten it done yet today.

I went to a neighbor's house. I would go there more often because I like her but I couldn't get away for three hours. That is certainly a lot longer than I wanted to take out of my day today. She just can't let you go when you want to leave.

Just drop by and you can have one of each kind of melon, Raven. It is your vapaversary after all.

Lizzie, I've been playing this online game that reminds me of you:

farmscapes320x240.jpg

Weeding, looking for things in the shed, picking fruits and veggies, people dropping by for food...

That game must be based on my life! I know it must be fun.;-) lol

I'm up early. About an hour ago, cats howling at each other woke me. I thought it was likely one of the cats was mine, and I didn't want him in a cat fight. He's getting old, and lately, I've noticed he is getting deaf, so I knew calling him wouldn't work. So I got up, shrugged into some clothes, and went out with a flashlight. The cats had disappeared, of course. So I went back to bed, where I tossed and turned and finally decided to just get up instead of lying there, fighting it.

I think a great deal of my sleeplessness has to do with the fact that earlier this evening, I said yes for sure to taking Penny to the new barn. Today, I have to let my present barn owner know and see when I can move Penny. It's customary to give a month's notice, but maybe she'll agree to me going sooner. Then I have to find out who can trailer Penny from the present barn to the new one.

You ARE up early! Sorry you didn't get much sleep. :( Not that I really know anything about it, but I feel as if you've made the right decision. That was the hardest part, I'll be willing to bet. The rest of it will happen when it will. No sense frettin' over it.

I shared this with Terry, and I'll share it with you too. At the time, I didn't know who'd actually first said it and I paraphrased the heck out of it, but it was Wolfgang Riebe, a wise man:

“There are only two things to worry about,
either you are healthy or you are sick.
If you are healthy, then there is nothing to worry about.
But if you are sick there are only two things to worry about,
either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, then there is nothing to worry about.
But if you die there are only two things to worry about,
either you will go to heaven or to hell.
If you go to heaven, then there is nothing to worry about.
And if you to go hell,
you'll be so darn busy
shaking hands with your friends
you won't have time to worry.”

- Wolfgang Riebe

Speaking of not worrying: I have to have a bone scan today because of this lovely degenerative bone disease thing. I'm not worried about it. :D

Thanks, Rave. I hope your bone scan goes well.

Although I'm sort of worried, it's more strategic planning that I was doing. Like what I should say to the barn owner today. She's sort of unpredictable, so she might be perfectly OK, and she might freak out. Then the hoof trimmer is coming to the barn this afternoon. I asked the barn owner to move the horses that have been occupying the front of the barn so we have some space for him to do his job. She said she would. But there's no telling if it'll happen or not. I may have to decide what to do with those 2 horses when I get there if no one's home. Then I need to find someone to trailer Penny to the new place, but I can't do that till I find out when I can leave the present barn. All this was going round and round in my head.

Yes, it's not as important as a bone scan. I know that. And it'll all work out somehow. But I have often thought that whatever our biggest problem of the moment is, that's what occupies us. And right now, moving Penny is a thing with a lot of unknown quantities, so I don't feel secure about it.

Good morning, Evie, SandySu, RAven,

Today, I need to call a friend and see if she wants to go to lunch:)

I have lots of things I could do but I think I will try to clean the bathrooms and call it a day. Oh, and I need to pick veggies and make a shopping list. So far, the BBQ is going to have a number of people I like coming. I'm excited to finally have a space to have friends over to BBQ and hang out.

We bought wireless speakers for the party. And for us since it will be really nice to have music out in the garage. I haven't tried them out in the garden yet but they will probably work out there, too.

I got dewormer for the dogs coming in the mail. It is almost time to worm all the critters. Not a glamorous job but an important one.
