Sitting down, facing forward.
We needed new end tables a few years ago and didn't want to buy them in kit form, so we went to a local, big name, furniture store. We looked around and decided on a nice table with a drawer on the bottom and hidden storage under the top and bought two, not particularly inexpensive either. I went back with my van to pick them up and got two flat boxes. I had to put them together. What a rip off!

Yesterday, I got the following email invitation: "You are all invited to a 'baby' shower for Kelly next Saturday. Her new arrival will be coming tomorrow. Please help her celebrate her new baby boy Duncan. We will be having snacks and desert and sharing lots of horse stories. Let me know if you can come so that I can plan for the food."

My first question is: Is Kelly pregnant? I didn't think she was planning more children, but you never know ... Then I wondered if it was a new horse. Yes, she bought a foal. I decided I should do a drawing of him for her shower. So I went today to take photos. I think I'll draw this one.

I have to get busy with the drawing! There's not much time. Once again, I'd appreciate a critique when I think it's far enough along.

The little guy is very calm. He just arrived at a new place today, and I've seen adult horses more worried about that! Corky (remember him?) is being the babysitter.

Kelly has not told her family she bought another horse. She had 3 she had to ride, so I'm not sure what she was thinking. I'm sure her husband will say the same. I think this is why he doesn't know yet!

Wish me luck getting inspired! I'll see how it goes.

Meanwhile, I decided to postpone the zoo visit that was going to happen tomorrow till next Sunday, which as of now, seems like it'll have nicer weather.

Your nearest hydrogen bomb.
How about getting a swarm of mosquitoes to hang around you? You aren't allergic to cauliflower, are you?
No i'm not allergic, i just ate so much i now roll instead of walking. :D

Don't you mean "the white stuff that looks like broccoli?"

See, he DOES know what the word is!

Morning! I have just about everyyhing put away now. Been taking it easy to ease the aches & pains but they aren't going away. Yesterday I broke up the branches that Rave & I cut and gathered, hauled in some firewood & rebuilt a few atties. Nothing too strenuous but my bad shoulder hurts like a beach and my whole hand was numb during the night.

I got a visit from a big ol buck in my yard before he headed into the woods. 6 -8 point. Very cool. Twice now a woodpecker
has waken me up tapping at my bedroom window. I think it is a red-belly woodpecker.

Morning gang. It's 32° (feels like 24°) and we are getting a bit of the dandruff snow at the moment. Nothing to get all excited about, thankfully.

We went to Ikea to get a couch/futon for my son with our truck to save him the extra $100+ delivery fee. There is so much more than furniture there, so I figured I could do a bit of browsing and maybe cross a few things off the Christmas shopping list. Mr. Q was not impressed and made that crystal clear. This was his first (and last, with me anyway) experience there, I think someone that hated it must have described it to him, so his mind was made up even before he walked inside. Yeah, no fun. But, that is done and my son has his couch thingy. We did not volunteer to help put it together, lol.

Glad to hear you are getting to the point of relaxing a bit, Terry.

A baby shower for a horse? I've never heard of anything like that, but then I only know a few people that have horses. Sounds like a fun way to catch up with the folks from the old barn though.

Cauliflower is one of my favorites, now I'm in the mood for a cheesy casserole.

Have a great day Volties!
