Poor little Petrie Duck. I hope your doggie learns not to chase sucks soon, Ducky. It's good you aren't holding a grudge against the dogs who are only doing what dogs do.

Is Bo doing any better, awsum?

I got to my job and my client was very upset so I didn't clean. It is a good thing since I went shopping for a few things and by the time I got home, I hit the wall. I need to rest up before tackling any more planting or yard clean up.

Thanks for asking, folks.

Bo is eating chicken, at least, and a little dry food mixed with it. He didn't get any of his meds today, gabapentin and tramadol, and he seems in no more discomfort from joint problems than normal. Maybe he really doesn't need them? The vet we saw on Monday wasn't his regular vet, but she called tonight and has prescribed some other GI medications. Mrs. Awsum just went out to get them so we'll see if that helps at all. No word on the xrays yet though.

I love my doggies too much to hold grudges :) They are like kids to me :) It was really sad to find him like that, and I miss him very much.

{{{{Ducky}}}} I am so sorry for your Petrie.:cry:

That's actually the reason we don't have ducks anymore (though we are seriously considering them now). Fiance's nephew's dog (husky/german shepherd) killed them.

@awsum140 I hope that Bo's xray comes back clean. *fingers crossed*:nun::nun:

I love ducks and chickens. My neighbor got some chickens so I get to enjoy chicken sounds without having the chickens. Nice.

    Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

I'm thinking about trying one of those mosquito zappers in the yard. We don't have lots of mosquitoes but we have enough!!!!

It is supposed to get to 84 today and 85 tomorrow and then go back down to the 60's and seventies. I am cooling off the house this morning and then closing the shutters to keep it cool.

    'moanin, Voltaticalytes.

Lizzie, if you get a mosquito zapper make sure it has some form of CO2 generator. That's one of the thing mosquitos uses to home in with.

We're supposed to get to the mid 70's today and finally have some sunshine, albeit with high, thin clouds. It's 79 already so I think they missed the high by a tad or two.

Mrs. Awsum keep talking about getting chickens. The first thing I mention is Bo who's a chicken connoisseur. Then there's the coop, feed water and, inevitable, chicken poop cleanup duties. Somehow, I don't think it's worthwhile for eggs to keep us supplied. We only use four or eight eggs a week. On the other hand, chicks are cute and the chicken could help with bug control. We don't have any ponds for ducks and I'm sure not going to dig one, line it, fill it and keep the water clean. Waaaay too much work!

There is also the mice from having grain for the chickens. Sometimes Norway rats.

I'm resting up today. Hate it but I can't keep going. My arms hurt.

I'm helping my neighbor with her veggie drip system this afternoon. I have a water board meeting this evening.

Members of the municipal water enterprise?
Yes. No one wants to serve, no one understands much of what paperwork and such is/ needs to be done. There are problems. I don't know how we resolve this.

    Hehe!
I eat 8 eggs at once... I'm lucky both my boss and brother have chickens and i only get the eggs, home eggs are for sure way better than the store bought ones, there is no need to have lots of them, 3-5 are fine, since they are few of them you can get better breeds or rare chickens.
My brother also has around 170 quails and i get those eggs too, they are even better.
For a duck pond you can use dynamite :D Or an old bathtub burried.

I hear, though I have no experience, that chickens will decimate the tick population, so if that's a concern, get them.

I hit the wall Thursday and I haven't recovered so I called my client and told her I was taking the dog to the vet so I couldn't make it. She didn't sound real happy but too bad. I rarely cancel.

Willie was throwing up yesterday. I'm hoping she will be okay this morning, otherwise I am going to need to take her to the vet.

Today is going to be a day off for my arms!

It is supposed to be hot again today although yesterday wasn't horrible. It was 84 degrees.

    'moanin, Volties.

We're kind of putting off the inevitable with Bo. He didn't really want to eat this morning and isn't drinking a whole lot either. I'll cook some fish for him, later, and see if we can get that into him.

I'm sorry to hear that Bo isn't feeling any better, awsum. So scary. My heart goes out to you.

    Good morning Volties!

If we don't get some sun soon, I'll need to grow gills. Fourteen days of dreary with rain off and on. Well I can't do anything about that but hope. We will have a forest by the time it's done.

Awsum, I really hope and pray there is something that can be done for Bo. I feel your pain.

Lizzie, I'm hoping it's just that Willie has a type of stomach flu and will bounce back quickly.
