BF brought me 24 colored pencils that his daughter doesn't use anymore but they aren't pastel, they are Crayola colored pencils. They don't blend at all but will be good for small detail. I'm hoping to get some pastels this week come payday.

Today, I went to the barn twice. First, when I got there, I noticed that Sunny had ripped another of Penny's blankets. It's the light one, just a little more than a rain sheet, which is what I need for her now. It's warm in the middle of the day, but it goes down to freezing at night. So I took off the blanket and let her graze in the yard and gave her a short grooming. I planned to leave the blanket off till late afternoon, then return and put it on after I had taken it home to patch with duct tape.
Meanwhile, while I was there, I spoke to the barn owner about how Sunny is destroying my blankets, and I didn't want Penny in his pasture anymore. She said she'd have to think about what to do instead, but right then, she was rushing off to somewhere.
So I went home with the blanket, leaving Penny nude for the day, which is good for her, since it's warm enough, and if I lived there, I'd remove the blanket at midday on these warm days. But I figured she'd roll in the mud, which is really gooey, and I'd have a big job cleaning her this evening.
Luckily, when I went back, she hadn't rolled. That saved me quite a bit of grooming. I took her out on grass again for a while and groomed her again. I hadn't spent too much time this morning, figuring I'd be cleaning mud off her this evening.
On the way to the barn and back, I noticed some willow trees just starting to get leaves. They are always the first. So on the return trip, I took my camera. I did take the willow trees on the way home, but the pictures are ho-hum. However, the sun was setting, and it looked great shining through the trees, so I stopped and took that in a few places, and here's the best photo: tonight's sunset.

It rained all night last night and that is supposed to continue until Friday afternoon. We're supposed to get many inches of rain during that time period. We're under a Flood Watch beginning tonight. April showers bring May flowers, right?
