It won't be long till Penny moves, too! I told the barn owner today, and she was surprisingly amenable. She said she wouldn't expect a month's notice, I could go at any time. Now I have to find out when the new barn owner, the teenager, will be available. I'd like him there when Penny arrives. Then I can ask around for someone to trailer Penny from the old place to the new.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Terry, get 'crackin' on that packin! Congratulations!

Congratulations on finding a new home, that's closer, for Penny, Sandy. Sounds like it might work out very nicely for you and the young man.

The problem with those fishing line boxes is that I would have to add a "finger" of some sort to keep the wire from just pulling back into the box and springing off the roll in the process. I guess I'll stick with the "pull out about three feet, make coils until it gets too short, then pull out another three feet." The nickel wire I use for "NR" is even worse than the Kanthal and on a completely different spool which complicates things further.

Nope, these have rubber grommets. That's why I like them. Read up a little and it seems a lot of folks use them for jewelry wire, which is pretty similar to what we use (I have a big mess of those too). You could even get solid ones and puncture your own holes, if they're not fine enough. Or bubblegum.

Holy Schmoly! I leave for one whole day and see what happens?

Lizzie and Awsum get into a massive competition to see which of the two can make me feel like the laziest bum on the planet first!

Terry gets her Appraisal approved!! YAY!!

And Sandy gets her current barn owner to agree with no argument and no advance notice required!!

Sounds like a good day was had by all. :D Ahhhh, life is good isn't it?

*contented sigh*

Wait a minute, dear Raven, you didn't ask me how my day was.

It was a day, like any other day. Nothing bad happened, but nothing good happened, either. I guess that I can't complain.

Oh yeah, I just saw Terry's post, good point, Terry. How was your day, Raven?

OK, I got my friend Deb to trailer Penny. Sometime between Aug. 28 and 30, in the morning. The boy OKed it. So now I have to hear back from Deb which day, then e-mail the boy.

Getting Penny loaded onto the trailer will be a trip. She isn't used to it, and she's rightfully suspicious, since she would rather be with her herd of horses than anywhere else, and a trailer ride usually means going someplace different. She will get on, but not easily. She used to load beautifully till one bad trailer ride when the guy wanted to tie her head too tight and then went over bumpy roads. Horses never forget, and now Penny has had problems about riding in a trailer ever since.

Oh, the mistakes I've made, sometimes not even knowing they'd be a mistake! This can be said of life in general, but horses teach you in a very direct way the stuff life might teach you but be more obtuse about.

Ohhh ... everything went fine. I was VERY happy cuz I didn't have to take off my clothes or even my mocassins and it wasn't a cold, steel table that I had to lie on. The poor Technician was having a rough time getting her job done though because I had her in stitches the whole time. T'was all her fault though. She started it by stopping the test mid-way (literally) and saying "Wait .... are you wearing a belly ring?!" Then I had to take it out and proceeded to punish her for such a terrible imposition by making her laugh her enviably tiny tuchus off. I figure: Working in a medical environment is probably a dreary job. I mean - there's this whole "sick people" thang goin' on. I like to leave folks chuckling. Especially when they have to work in such a somber environment every day. Y'know?

 Yep, that and she's a walking sedative. Just what I need. LOL! All I can offer is a place to get away when she needs to.

I'm sure she gets more. Someone to laugh with w/o having a bone scan involved, someone to help her with her vaping stuff, just someone she can call on when she needs to get away.

Yep, I can do all that. :) We never seem to run out of things to talk about either. We have talked until dawn on first visit and for hours on the phone. It's too bad BF and I don't have anything in common to talk about.
