It's been said that the widow's walks near the ocean, were used by wives, who looked across the water when their husband's ships were due back home. Sometimes, the ships never returned, hence the name widow's walk.

The North Atlantic is a cruel ocean.
My grandfather had an uncle who never returned to Bristol. Cruel on both sides.

I hope BF feels better soon. Yes, Rave, you need enough sleep so you don't get sick, too. Take care of yourself.

Naw - I can't get sick. Only humans do that. However, I have been pretty much comatose since yesterday afternoon. Still feel like I need more, so I'm giving in whenever the urge to sleep strikes. It's been striking a lot today! Turns out that the BF wasn't really sick per se. He was just not responding well to a new prescription. But tell me: Why is it that when men are sick, they act as if they are on death's door? And women ... not so much. Gross generalization, of course. But still ...

Back with another fun, silly video to top off your evening.

Dadgum! He's good!!

Absolutely amazing!

Wuzz - I sure hope that Mrs. Wuzz is able to come home soon.

By the way:

The young folks finished the "bump out" this weekend. The bump out will be at the end of their bedroom. They now have all of the exterior walls in place. They still haven't sheathed the tops of most of 'em, but that'll come later. I guess they start framing up interior walls next. I don't even want to think about how high in the tree my son's fiance was to take this shot. Probably would be a good idea for him to take out life insurance on her. Just sayin'. ;)

Rave, the house is really coming together! I hope they can finish the exterior before it snows. If they don't get the roof on in time, what then? They must have a plan to protect what they built so far.

Yes, that girl sure can climb trees! Does she have one of those belts that goes around her and the tree like tree pruners do?

Actually, it's already snowed here, but it wasn't anything to write home about. They'll keep on building through the winter. They work outside all year long for their jobs, so they are used to it. They'll wrap the walls in Tyvek and cover the floor in tar paper. The windows that aren't still boarded in will be boarded over. With the exception of last year, the snows here don't usually stay on the ground for more than a few days. 'Course, that could be changing. The problem is, they are sinking all of the extra from both of their paychecks into the house. It may not be enough to get it closed it as quickly as they'd like. Time is also a limitation. They work long hours only to come home and work on the house.

No - she's not using a climber's belt or anything at all.

Hey Volties....we got a lot done today but still have a lot to do. I emptied all the kitchen boxes and put everything away and discovered that I still had several empty cabinets. I'm not use to having such a huge kitchen so I put things away as if I had half the space. Woot! :p the spare bedroom we called the misc room is still a disaster but there is no hurry there. That's going to be my exercise room and I'm getting plenty of exercise without it. I'm still so sore and tired but I should be able to relax in a few days.

Wuzz... I hope DW gets to go home soon. I'm sure she is getting tired of hospitals and home cooked food.

Sitting down, facing forward.
We just got back from doing our civic duty. They wouldn't let Bo vote though.

I'm glad Terry is getting settled in and had Rave to help her over those rough spots. Moving, even a few miles let alone cross country, is never fun and buying a house just complicates things even more.
