When are the roof trusses going on, or did I miss that? Gotta get it closed in before the real weather sets in!

They are going to frame up the interior walls before building the trusses. And no, they won't be able to get it closed in before real weather. Their money will only extend so far. They're doing the best that they can with limited time and funds. They'll Tyvek the walls inside and out and put tar paper on the floor. They've already covered the floor with latex paint, but that won't be enough. The plan is to build the trusses themselves because the pre-made trusses are so expensive. It's a slow process when you aren't made of money.

Good morning, Voltpeeps.

Thanks for sharing all the pics, peeps:)

Raven, you were a good friend to help Terry with getting a nice place to live. Also, the kids are working hard. However, the tree climbing is making me very nervous:)

Off to vote and then go shopping.

Well, Lizzie - Thank you, but I have ulterior motives. Now I have a local friend to have adventures with during the week. :D

Good morning all. Hope everybody has a happy hump day. DW came home yesterday and is on the mend. Thanx for all your prayers and concerns.

cheer (1).gif I'm so glad that DW was able to come home and is feeling better! :)

Morning Everyone!

Dunno what my deal is. Ever since I came home from Terry's I feel as if I've been bitten by a tsetse fly. Can't seem to stop sleeping. I do feel a bit more like myself this morning and hope to be able to get a few bills paid and maybe run to town for a few errands. Might have to put running to town on the agenda for tomorrow though.

That front from the hurricane off of the Baja Peninsula gave us a solid day of rain yesterday. No thunder or lightning. Just dreariness. I'm so glad that's past us! The recent temperature drop killed off the remaining greens and the trees are now either brown or bare. Already I'm thinking that I can't wait until Spring. One advantage of naked trees is that I can see much farther into the forest. Spotted a lovely little buck the other day. I also noticed that the mineral block that I put on a stump down by the creek has shifted. Only a deer or a sasquatch could move that thing. I have a trail cam focused on it, but it's too slithery out there to go down the hill to retrieve the SD card.

Hope everyone has a great day. I've got to get some work done around here.

Later!

Yes, sorting onions! We grew yellow, white and red onions this year and it is time to store them under the guest bed next to the garlic. I just put the last of the potatoes to be sorted under the bed, too.

We have about a zillion squash in the hay/shade cover shed that are in a straw corral topped by straw bales to insulate them from temperature extremes. I'm hoping to have some of them eaten before we have to bring them into the house. I'm running out of room under the guest bed. That is the coldest room in the house so the produce stores best in there.

:?:

Why so quiet, y'all?

Here's something weird. My son and his fiance were sitting in his room talking side by side. Her phone was on the desk across the room. His phone rang. It was her phone calling him. Her phone didn't say anything.

*cue Twilight Zone theme*

I seem to be coming out of my malaise. Today I got the bills paid along with the property taxes. Then I made the journey to town to pick up prescriptions and groceries and to make a bank deposit. Then I had to schlep all of the stuff in the house and put it all away. Considering how I've been for the last few days, this is a minor miracle. I'd planned to take a nap after I'd accomplished said errands, but that got interrupted. Not for long. I'm going to bed early!

Rave, I don't know why it's so quiet lately, either. Could it be because you and Terry have been so busy? Do you 2 hold Voltville together?

I wouldn't think so. :?: We all seem to hold the group together pretty well. It's an interesting hodge podge of personalities that seem to mesh so well. Some of us are more colorful than others, but we all have interesting elements to contribute. Maybe we're all in a bit of a malaise from the change of time and change of seasons. Dunno.

Nice crows, by the way. I love any members of the corvidae family. :)

I have been watching the thread a lot, caught up with the suspense of Terry's planned move. After all, Terry is the only person at ECF that I have actually met, even if it was just a wave at the train station----

I'm really glad you are starting to feel better. I feel partly to blame for your exhaustion. I wish I could say I'm feeling better but every time I sit down I see something that needs to be done. I know I don't have to do everything now but it bugs me to see MY house so disorganized. I can't remember when I've hurt so much. :(

Nap? I've forgotten what that is. :/

Update:
Today I was walking around the back of MY house and slipped on the muddy slope and landed on my bad knee and both hands. A large piece of firewood from the top of the pile came down on landed on my right first 3 fingers bruising and swelling the first 2 and scraped a small chunk out of my 3rd finger. Twisted my bad ankle too. :( I can still hold a mod so I guess I'll survive.

We went shopping for more repair hardware today and I opened a checking account. I also called the flooring company that put in my linoleum. Thankfully there is a 1 yr warranty on the floors because the kitchen linoleum is coming up. I don't remember if I told you guys about the big bubbles where the glue didn't stick. They are going to send the installer back to fix it.

Tomorrow BF tackles the water leaks. He's replacing the leaky outside faucet and maybe both faucets for the washer. Today he fixed the dryer vent hose, replaced the female end of a heavy duty extension cord for the generator, fixed the door knob to the guest room so it opens by turning the knob clockwise instead of the other way around. That really bugged Rave. LOL! He also turned the hot water temp up to 125 degrees so we don't have to wait all day for hot running water.

Last night we both took it easy and watched the 4 part Lonesome Dove movie. I've never seen him sit through a movie before so that was a surprise.

That's it for now. I'm falling asleep while I'm typing. Hope everybody has a great tomorrow. :)

Good morning roomies. Another day, another Doctor. DW is feeling much better since she's been home without people waking her up to stuff sleeping pills down her throat and draw blood samples. I could have cooked a pile of oak leaves and she would have said it was delicious after 4 days of institutional food. I could get really used to this sleeping in thing but I guess I'll prolly go back to work tomorrow. Hope y'all have a bodacious Friday Eve.

Terry, I'm sorry to hear you fell. I hope you heal quickly. A hot bath with Epsom salts can help relieve the aches and pains.

I met one person from the thread: Uncle. We met when we were both visiting Philadelphia.

Who else has met others from Voltville?
