Hey Volties. I'm back home now. We got up a 5am and woke up Rave so she got up and make us a cup of coffee before we left for the train station. Thanks so much for that Rave. :) BF is on his way back to WA and when I got home the house was 55 degrees. Brrrr! I turned on the furnace and built a fire and when it was going good I went back to bed and slept for 3 hrs. I felt just as crappy when I got up as I did when I layed down. :( I used the last of the kindling to start the fire so I sawed up some limbs and cut some kindling, loaded up my indoor log holder and stacked some firewood outside. I have to get that staked so I can order some more. So now I'm still sore and tired and it feels like it should be around 10pm. So much for the country life but I love it. :)

Rave was a gracious host as always and she and her BF cooked us a delicous dinner and drank apple pie. Gawd that stuff is good.

I emailed some pics of my woods to Rave and she will post them when she has the time. I took some pics of the living room also since that room is the most setup. I'll email them to Rave later so she can post those too. Damn I miss my desktop PC.

It's been cloudy all day and in the 40's but starting to sprinkle now. I hope you all have fair weather.

Later.....

Twilight Zone
Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

Not too bad here. 36 degrees overnight low and warming up fast this morning. We have several not too big of projects to get done today. All involving cutting plywood or string board:) I want to put some boards up to protect the back door from blowing snow. The lattice doesn't keep the snow out. Also, I have a cabinet that I took out of the guest bedroom. It's press board. I want to put a piece of plywood on the back of it and use it out on the breezeway. That way the dogs won't be able to steal wire brushes and charcoal:)

Terry, glad you are getting some rest!

Wuzz - Hoping you get your property sold. Moving to a place like Michigan would be a big climate change, don't you think?

Great photo, SandySu.

I'd rather have rain than snow, Q. Of course, with the drought we have been having I will take what I can get.

It would be a change of climate indeed. I lived in New Jersey for almost 9 years so it's not like I don't know what it's like.

And here, I think, is where the whole "Have ---, will travel" thing started. Anyone remember this TV series?

Sure do remember it. Richard Boone lived in St. Augustine for a long time. About 30 miles from where I lived at the time the show was popular.

Hiya Volties! I have been lurking, as usual, but I've also been doing a heck of a lot of sleeping. I can't seem to get enough! I decided my body knows best, so I'm going with the flow.

 That's exactly what I've been dealing with! I can't seem to stop sleeping. I'm afraid I'm not very exciting company for my BF this weekend. We've been ... vegetating for the most part. We did get a stained glass swag lamp wired up and hung so that I can read in bed. That's about it though.

Was taking a break from my regular doing nothing life and i thought i should harass customer SI's support :D :D
Who is Christie? :p

Forgot to ask about a cookie recipe..

 That's funny as heck, Tritium. You're hilarious! It was probably the best chat Christie had all day. But ... Illinois?

I think I caught the sleepy bug from Rave or maybe I am still trying to get used to the time change. I just wanna sleep all the time!

What the heck?!?! You too?! Weird ...

I've got a feeling if she had an emergency Rave would help her get it taken care of. Bet the new house is looking great. Can't wait to see the pics. We're starting to get serious hits on our property..
You're right. I'll be there to help in any way I can if Terry needs it.

I may be another neighbor from the looks of what I've seen about the state. Michigan is another possibility. I'd like to be closer to my son.
Really?! That would be great! Lemme know if there's anything that I can do to help if you're serious. :D

I have a feeling that it will take a little bit of time to get used to the whole "living in the country" thang. But, I'll bet you're not having any trouble at all getting accustomed to the peace and quiet. ;)

Actually, you didn't wake me up. I was already awake long before you and the BF. Sorry that I forgot to give you the mason jar back refilled with Apple Pie. :(

Here's another good-night photo. I may be back to check in later, or maybe not.

Swiped it for a puzzle. I must be a masochist!!

Terry - I'm sorry that it took me so long to put these up. In my defense, I believe that I've been in a coma.

Here are a few shots of Terry's woods:

Dang it!! Terry, I'm so sorry. I've rotated the vertical ones in PhotoBucket, and they show up rotated there, but they won't show rotated here. I've never had this problem before.

Gorgeous woods, Terry. Rave, I remember having a rotation problem like that with Photobucket, too. I solved it somehow, but now I forget what I did.

And I love the living room! So spacious. Not cluttered like mine. Mine wasn't cluttered when I first moved in, either, but things build up somehow.

Thx Rave for posting my pics but i did say to take your time. :) All pics were oriented just fine.

Thx Sandy...the woods are beautiful but i'm not sure how many of those pics were actually on my property because i don't know where the property line is but i think most are.

This living room is so cool and i swear it is as big as my trailer back in WA. I still have pics to hang and get a coffee table and arrange the decor/nic nacs. Kichen is still a disaster.

I've got the sleepys too but thrre is too much work to do to indulge.

I did an epson salt soak last night and that felt wonderful.

The fire was out 2 hrs after i went to bed last night. :( I rebuilt it but by morning it was completely out. The furnace woke me up to a chilly 28 degrees outside so the furnace was prob going all night. Crap! Then it smoked up the house trying to start it and the damper was wide open.

Terry, when I had a woodstove, I had to clean out the chimney periodically. Maybe that's your problem. Or maybe the flue is stuck, and you think it's open but it's not. When I had the woodstove, I learned how to bank the fire so there were still hot embers in the morning to get it going again. You can't expect it to burn hot all night long, but you can keep it from totally going out. Of course, I could have started the fire fresh in the morning, but I liked to see if I could keep it going overnight and not have to light it again, just to see if I could. At some point, you have to let it go out so you can clean out the old ashes and start fresh. When you clean out the ashes, you have to be sure there aren't any live coals buried in them that could start a fire wherever you decide to put the ashes.
