Hey guys and gals,

Thanks for the very warm welcome. I'm not sure I'll get through all 2564 pages, but I'll dig around and see if I can get caught up on the shenanigans. Certainly sounds like a motley crew!

A little about me:
Was a light smoker, mostly social, and hated cigarettes. Just loathed the smell, the coughing, the knowledge that they're lethal, etc. Occasionally I found a taste that was adequate, but nothing great. I mostly just enjoyed the slight buzz and sensation of inhaling something (sounds weird). I gave up drinking in December and found myself smoking a lot more, about half a pack a day (menthol). I hated going outside of my apartment into the cold to do something that I knew was lethal and would make me stink. I knew of e-cigs but hadn't tried one in a few years. Bought a disposable and it was good enough so I figured a Volt should do the trick. So far I'm in heaven! A few days without analogs and very little desire for one. These things taste a billion times better, are cheaper, I can vape inside, in the car and I never smell bad (at least not because of vaping ;). I ended up getting a 1200mah eGo Twist and 3ml Vivi Nova for around the house but use my Volts a LOT. Always when I'm out doing something.

I'm 34, male, Sagittarius, born in B-more and now leave near DC. My favorite activity is Skydiving, which I do most weekends and I'm trying to learn to play the Piano which is much more fun while vaping! Coming up on 5 months of sobriety, thanks to AA, and now I kicked cigs too. It feels freakin' awesome, now I just need to get to the gym.

It's good to see another Marylander around these parts. I'm a Baltimore city girl born and bred and haven't branched out much further, so Maryland is where I'll stay. Skydiving really sounds exciting. You must be quite the daredevil!

Glad you found your way to Smokeless Image. It was because of the Volts that got me completely off cigarettes from day 1, 7 months ago. Of course I've added other hardware since then because it has become quite the hobby for me now. You'll have to sample the different liquids that SI carries... so many great flavors and you don't have to limit yourself to just one taste.

I wish you much success and good luck in your vaping journey. If you have questions or concerns, the people on this forum are glad to help.

ZZ - Interesting story. I'm allergic to alcohol so never been one of my vices. I won't tell you what my vices were:) except that I loved smoking. Nice story about getting off the ciggies with Volt. Good for you on giving up drinking and smoking.

As for skydiving, heck, I get vertigo roofing the shed so I am definitely not going skydiving.

I am another horse lover but my horse pulls a cart and is 30 1/2 inches tall.

By the way folks, Wiseguy was a perfect gentleman for the vet and looks fine after getting his 6-in-1 shot. We are getting a fecal analysis to see if he needs worming. His teeth are fine but one tooth grew in a little funny in the front. Kind of common for minis to have dental issues. The vet thought my little guy was in great shape. I'm such a proud horse owner.

Spot the Goat apparently has some sort of squamous carcinoma. The vet said that we should keep him until he looks like he isn't feeling good and then it is time for the Big Goat Hut in the Sky. Sad news but not unexpected. Spot was given a great goat life with goat friends and plenty of good food and clean water and a goat toy to play on, warm straw in a goat hut.... so be happy for him and do not be upset by the bad news. [Okay, I feel a little like crying but it is unfortunate that we outlive our pets and stuff happens].

Congratulations on Wiseguy behaving well. Give him an extra carrot from me, OK? I'm sorry to hear about Spot, though. Is she the one in your photo? You're right, pets usually outlive us, but it's always hard to let one go.

I just got back from my afternoon walk around the neighborhood. I noticed a couple of neighbors have already mowed their grass, and now I see the landlord out there doing ours. Just as I arrived home, what should I see in the front yard of the house across the street but a pair of deer. That's a fairly common sight around here, since there are lots of deer, much to the gardeners' dismay. I like to see them, though. I think it's neat to have deer in the yard when I look out my window.

Great news about Wiseguy and I am so sorry to hear the news about Spot. Is he the cute little guy in your avatar? I hope he is not in pain. One thing you can take comfort in is you are an excellent petowner who gives them the best care possible. That's all we can do for the short time they are with us.

Yes Lizzie, it is definitely ok to cry because you love him so.

I could not pass up posting this one for you gals (and guys)

The Husbands Store

A store that sells new husbands has opened in
Manchester, just off Deansgate, where a woman may go to choose a husband.
Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store
operates:
"You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six
floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the
flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may
choose to go up to the next floor --but, you cannot go back down,
Except to exit the building."

So, a woman DID recently go to this Husbands Store
To find a mate. On the first floor she notes that
The sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men have Jobs

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor,
Where the sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men have Jobs and Love Kids.
"That's nice," she thinks, "but I want more."

So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.

"Wow!" she thinks --but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor, and the sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men have Jobs, Love Kids, are
Drop-dead Good Looking, and Help With Housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"
Still, she goes on to the fifth floor, and the sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men have Jobs, Love Kids, are
Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and
Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay . . . But she races to the
Sixth floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor.
There are no men on this floor. This floor exists
solely as proof that women are impossible to please!
Thank you for shopping at the Husbands Store.
_____________

PLEASE NOTE:
To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner has
opened a new Wives Store, just across the street,
With the same rules.
The first floor has wives that love sex.
The second floor has wives that love sex and
Have money and like beer.
The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors
Have never been visited. :toast::laugh:

Thanks, Joanne - He is the goat in my avatar. He's a shy goat but really amusing to watch.

I do try to give the animals a good life because I so enjoy sharing their world. They give me something that is unique and wonderful. A glimpse into another species mind.

It looks like a very nice day for Debra. I am just crazy enough to have placed two gadgets on my computer screen showing the time in Queensland Australia as well as the weather. It is about 68 degrees in her area of the world today and a little cloudy. I am sure you are loving the temps this time of year Debra. Pet Alice for us and say Hi.

Sitting here vaping on a T3 (which I don't like, but too lazy to fill cartos), and after cussing it out for a few minutes, I pulled out the skinny flavor wicks (the ones that sit on top of the coil), replaced them with a longer 2mm wick (about 3/4" long on each side), very ungracefully shoved it all back into the tank (the long wicks get all mushy at the bottom when they go in there), and it's not quite so irritating now (I was getting teeny weeny vapes before). Gotta play with it a little more, but it seems to be hitting a little better. ;) Still won't replace cartos for me though. I really wish SI would start carrying carto tanks and prepunched cartos! :grr:

Welcome, ZephyrZone - congrats on the no-drinking no-smoking thing. The gym's gonna be so easy now - just gotta start going! Then you'll really feel good! I work out for about an hour every day now and I don't even get winded anymore. I think I'm in better shape now than I was 34 years ago (when you were born).

If you want to see an interesting video that illustrates the effects of surface tension check Astronomy Picture of the Day
It's amazing what happens in zero, or more properly, micro gravity.

Neat! I expected the water to fly off in droplets. There was a little of that, but not a lot. Wasn't it weird how it coated his hands? Wet hands in zero gravity! I also liked how he let go of the microphone and it just floated there.

Very spacey, awsum.

Coffee is on, Volties.

I think I'll drive into town to pick up horse feed and dogfood. And a couple of other little things.

I need to check and see if we have a light switch available in the shed for the new electrical outlet. Hubby is going to install an outdoor electrical pug in near the pond and I thought it would be great to put it on a light switch so we could turn it off from inside the house.

A few groceries and then back home to rest up. I'm a little worn out from all these projects. Maybe something easy like starting my flower seeds indoors. Hubby bought me some tall snapdragon seeds.

37 degrees this morning and a nice day on the way.

That's one thing I haven't tried yet but I'm curious about. From your experience, which is best to get and from where? Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

I much prefer the mini T3s over the big boys. Also, rub a little candle wax over a couple of the holes to improve the draw. If two is too much, just poke it out with a pin. :)

That's me, a space cadet!

It's up to 58 now, after starting out in the 35 range, and headed up to 75 or so with lots of sun. I'll be able to get that raking and flower bed done today.

Hey Lizzie check into the X-10 system. You could remote control the pump from anywhere in or around the house and no trench needed, assuming power is already there. They have modules that will handle up to a 20 amp inductive load, so switching a pump is no problem.

Thanks for the coffee. Seems like we are going to have a beautiful WARM sunny day with temps in the 70s FINALLY! Hope it last longer than one day. :)

Are you going to get some goldfish for your pond? You'll have to take a picture when you're finished. I really would love to see that. :2cool:
