Good night, people. This is a path between houses that leads to fields behind the houses. It's down the street from my house, and I think the fields at the end of this path is where I hear coyotes.

sad news,,Daisy* got out...couldn't find her...few hours later..we find her in the bush...feral cats have ripped her up blood everywhere..no local vets available ...only after hours...another huge vet bill...Old mate is angry as hell....hes out buying cat traps..had enough...of these ferals...please say prayers for Daisy*...

Good morning, Volties! Coffee is on, dark roast Columbian, and a pastrami omelet on a wrap will be along a little later. It's summer time here again, mid 90's yesterday and in the mid 60's now. We had the AC on yesterday as well. Maybe today I'll get out there and get the garden cleaned out.

Poor Daisy*. Do what you can to prevent infection until you can get her to a vet. Betadine solution is a good disinfectant, and doesn't sting.

I'm so sorry! Sending vibes that she heals well. Trapping the feral cats might be a very good idea. I hope you get them all.

Awsum, Same heat here on Delmarva, so much for keeping the AC costs down. I was thinking of going out Kayaking yesterday, but when I saw the heat index I said NO WAY. We set a record here on Delmarva which was established in 1920 at 88 degrees. Yesterday it hit 89.
I won't be on the rest of the day Volties, Church Bazaar today and I fry oysters most of the day, then this afternoon late we have our community crab feast. By this evening I will smell like oysters and crab and be very full and tired. Just hoping my 18650 battery lasts and lasts.

Wow! It's hot there! It's gone up in the 70s here, but nothing like that. If you get weather that we just had, we've had rain yesterday and today. It's foggy. Still not cold, but maybe you'll get rain and it'll cool off a little.
thanks everyone...I cant believe this is happening again...cant see a vet till Tuesday..as its a public holiday Monday..im using betadine cream.. I have Elizabethan collar on Daisy*her leg has most damage ...very deep cut.. shes not a happy kitty..very sore all over...traps will be set Monday night,,as the pounds wont be open till Tuesday..just hope I can stop a bad infection setting in..till I get some antibiotics ..im hitting the sack early..bad headaches..take care...thanks for the good vibes and prayers...
Feral cats upset the balance of nature, especially there. Hope you trap all the bad guys, and wish more people would do it too. I am praying for your Daisy.
I sprained my ankle on Tuesday evening, it is still bothering me, but I am taking Ibuprofen like a good girl. I have some really angry-looking bruises. A few tiny ones even down at the base of my toes. My right one has gotten messed up several times, so I finally got a brace for it, because I know it will happen again. Elastic bandages get so dirty-looking, and it is too easy to wind it too tight.

Not much going on here - just lots of glorious rain. Fantastic storms in the wee hours. It's just all a bit late. I wish that it would've fallen last summer when my trees were at their most vulnerable. My son has been out in the woods with the lumber man for hours ... marking dead/dying trees for removal. It ain't gonna be pretty for awhile. The aphid infestation really decimated my forest. But, new life will spring up from the carnage. The timing could have been better in one other way too. My son and his fiance are planning to have their wedding here in the woods. Maybe even in the actual creek! Barefoot - LOL! Can't tell that those two were both raised by hippies, can ya?
I haven't done much today other than enjoy the showers and corresponding with a friend. Might have to do some more laundry too ...

Hi Volties - I'm back from our trip to the high mountains of Nevada. We had a great time and almost got trapped by the snowfall. We were worried that if we didn't get out immediately that it would be a couple of days before we would have another chance at getting out. We left the mountain at 5pm on Thursday and then drove and drove and got home at 1am Friday morning.
We spent yesterday driving to Gardenerville to get a firewood permit since the BLM office is closed in Carson City due to the government shutdown. At least I got a delicious Mexican lunch out of all that hassle. Then we got home and unloaded the camping gear.
Chilly this morning at 27 degrees and yes we are using the wood stove in the mornings
Lots to do and less time to do it. We are going up to Eagle Ridge to get some cedar for making kindling. The horse pen needs to be set up for the new guy. Hubby wants to go get some manure from a neighbor with horses for the vegetable garden. I have photos from both our trips but I haven't had time to download them.
