Sitting down, facing forward.
0, take it easy on that ankle. Ankle, while pretty strong, can be very fragile when stressed the wrong way, as in a sprain.

Hi Lizzie! Hope you had a good time and made it out ahead of that snow.

Time for Bo's walk and lunch. I spent the morning developing a technique to weld Kanthal wire on coils and it works like a champ! Now I can get all of the resistance in the coil with very little in the leads which, in turns, leads to great vaping on a rebuild.

    Hello all,

Deb, I am so sorry about your kitty. Praying she has a speedy recovery. Sending all my .

0, I am sorry to hear about your ankle. I know all about that... I have weak ankles so if I don't sprain them 3 or 4 times a year I don't feel right... hehe. But in all seriousness I wish you a speedy recovery as well.

Not much going on here - just lots of glorious rain. Fantastic storms in the wee hours. It's just all a bit late. I wish that it would've fallen last summer when my trees were at their most vulnerable. My son has been out in the woods with the lumber man for hours ... marking dead/dying trees for removal. It ain't gonna be pretty for awhile. The aphid infestation really decimated my forest. But, new life will spring up from the carnage. The timing could have been better in one other way too. My son and his fiance are planning to have their wedding here in the woods. Maybe even in the actual creek! Barefoot - LOL! Can't tell that those two were both raised by hippies, can ya?

I haven't done much today other than enjoy the showers and corresponding with a friend. Might have to do some more laundry too ...

This is so cool: Thick clouds keep swimming through my trees. It clears, and then another passes through. I like it!

Think of it this way: Nature makes the droughts and aphid infestations, so it's all part of the natural cycle. There always seems to be a reason, and maybe the old growth needed to be weeded out some to make way for new growth. Somehow, I find this kind of death less depressing than when the death is from something caused by people, like pollution. I remember visiting Mt. St. Helens after the eruption, and new growth was sprouting through the dust. It was amazing to see acres of huge Douglas firs all lying in the same direction, blown over by the volcano's blast. It resembled a forest I had seen that was laid flat by a tornado.

I can relate to the offspring in a barefoot wedding, since my daughter did it that way, too, but her wedding was on the beach. Everyone left their shoes at the edge of the beach where stairs led down to the beach. The rest was pretty traditional, though her wedding dress wasn't the fluffy kind with a train but a more slim version. She got married in Stone Harbor, NJ. Awsum, I bet you know where that is.

We had clouds and rain yesterday and this morning, but now the sun has peeked out. However, it looks like the forecast is predicting rain for the next several days. We had so many glorious, golden fall days that I guess we were due some rain. Yesterday evening, as I drove home from work, the fog and the sunset made the fields look very ethereal. I wish I had had my camera along.

Oh no Deb! Sending every good thought and healing vibe I can gather up! ((((Poor Deb, poor Daisy*))))

I've been lurking in a Benadryl fog, hoping I can slip by without taking any today.

Feel better soon Q! I normally get allergies this time of year but since I've stopped smoking... so far no symptoms.

    Hope I don't jinx myself.

Feral cats upset the balance of nature, especially there. Hope you trap all the bad guys, and wish more people would do it too. I am praying for your Daisy.

I sprained my ankle on Tuesday evening, it is still bothering me, but I am taking Ibuprofen like a good girl. I have some really angry-looking bruises. A few tiny ones even down at the base of my toes. My right one has gotten messed up several times, so I finally got a brace for it, because I know it will happen again. Elastic bandages get so dirty-looking, and it is too easy to wind it too tight.

Feel better soon 0mg. Try to stay off it and keep it elevated... I'm sure you know the drill.

I had a bad fall last February and bruised both knees so I feel your pain. I used a natural product called Arnicare Gel and it was very soothing. Arnicare Gel | Boiron Arnica Gel | Relieves Muscle Pain and Stiffness

    Take care.

Hi Volties - I'm back from our trip to the high mountains of Nevada. We had a great time and almost got trapped by the snowfall. We were worried that if we didn't get out immediately that it would be a couple of days before we would have another chance at getting out. We left the mountain at 5pm on Thursday and then drove and drove and got home at 1am Friday morning.

We spent yesterday driving to Gardenerville to get a firewood permit since the BLM office is closed in Carson City due to the government shutdown. At least I got a delicious Mexican lunch out of all that hassle. Then we got home and unloaded the camping gear.

Chilly this morning at 27 degrees and yes we are using the wood stove in the mornings:)

Lots to do and less time to do it. We are going up to Eagle Ridge to get some cedar for making kindling. The horse pen needs to be set up for the new guy. Hubby wants to go get some manure from a neighbor with horses for the vegetable garden. I have photos from both our trips but I haven't had time to download them.

Deb- I am sorry that your kitty is hurt. I hope she will be okay.

Yay you're back!!! Missed you but I know you had a good time. Lord girl! You just don't stop do you?

Can't wait to see pics! :)

Sorry about your ankle 0, hope it heals quickly.

Rave, that sounds like a great wedding plan! I bet it will be just beautiful.

Welcome home Lizzie, glad you didn't get snowed in!

I need to stay out of FT, I just noticed they have Chi-You clones....ugh.

Yeah I saw those! They are gorgeous too. It's tempting but I'm still waiting for my package that grew roots in Hong Kong.

That must have been amazing to see the forest around Mt. St. Helens!

I agree with what you're saying, Sandy. And, I think of it in the same way. However, these particular trees and I are old friends. We know each other. It's just sad to see them go.

Please send some of that rain down here! We haven't had any in over a month. Everything is drying out. So no pretty Fall for us.

I don't think it's allergies, even when I smoked I never seemed to be bothered, it's just a "cold/virus/crud", Mr. Q has it too. I hope you don't jinx either, "knocks on wood".

We've had a little rain today, and the past few days. The colors are starting to come out more, but still lots of green. The weather has been so weird this year.

Like a human old friend who dies. I get it. Everything and every being has to die, but we can miss it and mourn it.

Feel better soon. There's a cold going around here, too, but so far, I've escaped. I'm amazed, too, since last week when I tutored the kids, they had colds.

Here's an interesting set of self-tests to see if your notions of what you believe really agree with your gut reactions. This site -- https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/ -- was mentioned in the book I'm reading. I took the religion quiz, and it came out matching what I thought. I should go back and see how the others turn out. One thing I thought is that my mistakes were confusion -- I forgot which key to press -- but maybe that's a subconscious desire to answer that way? Who knows? The idea is that if you have to answer quickly w/o having time to think, the truth comes out more than answering as you think you should.

Well I hope whatever that is runs it's course and leaves! Lots of soup and hot tea will soothe both of you.

Flu season has hit here but I'm hoping I'll get the flu shot before it gets me.

That's why I was having Pho noodles. Boy, that jalapeño sure cleared everything up! :thumb::laugh:
