I wonder why some people have so much trouble getting things in the mail, but when I order something, it comes really quickly. Is it because of where I live? Am I more in a direct line for the post office than others? I'm not at all near NYC, though it's in the same state. I just wonder what method there is to the madness.

All this trouble started just a few months back, when they made all those budget cuts and closed a bunch of stations and hubs. Now they're just soooo lost and confused.
Maybe you're just one of the lucky ones whose neighborhood was left untouched...
USPS' mis-routing of mail actually did me a favor a few years back: The triplex I live in had just been sold, and the paychecks just happened to pile up, so I sent in my rent 2 wks early. Well, on the 6th of the month, my new landlord calls, wondering where my rent is. Apparently, "I mailed it 3 weeks ago" sounds a lot like "the dog ate my homework", so I cx'd the MO with my bank, got a new one, and hand-carried it to the designated location. 2 wks later, my landlord calls to tell me he's just received the original payment: mailed from inside our FL city to another address in our city, via Akron, OH. Now, he believes me when I tell him something, still, after all these years.

We just got hit with that. They shut down our mail processing facility and now all of our mail comes from NC. It adds another day. It can be frustrating.
