I would be willing to pay for that gift to steeljan if SI knows her shipping info. She taught me everything I now try to teach others about the joys of vaping, it would be sort of a Pay it Backwards type thing in the midst of my PIF attempts.

I was thinking we could take up a collection and make it from all of us, but it sounds like kia2 beat us to it.

Not exactly, but I did approach Imagine with a request. I wanted to make sure SteelJan knew how much we appreciate her, too. She helped so many of us, and I don't think she knows the scope. Even so, timing needs to be right. I asked Imagine if she could find out if SteelJan would be open to receiving a gift from someone she doesn't know and if SI might be willing to be my "middle man," because I did not want to ask for any of Jan's personal info, but at the same time I wanted to find a way somehow to let Jan know we are thinking of her, and we'll be here for her, regardless of when or if she ever returns. We're in a holding pattern right now, letting Jan have her peace and some time. Then, maybe. In anticipation of a positive response after a bit, I picked up a few things. I have no qualms at all about saying it is from all of us, if this goes ahead. We're all family. SteelJan is family. SI has become our family home. I think saying it was from the family would be appropriate. But, it really is up to Jan, when the time is right.

Every year since 2005 I have kept up my only wish & now its my tradition. I ride my motorcycle every year on my birthday , either to work (if i am working) or on a nice long ride. This year it was too work. I have only missed one year due to torrential rain.

Good thing you were not born in Dec or Jan or it would be a cooooollllllllddddddd ride.... LOL

What if SI accepted money donations from any of us who want to contribute and then gave her a gift certificate for the total amount? Imagine, does SI have anything like gift certificates people could give to others? And would SI be willing to collect the funds from everyone and add up the total and then, after a specified amount of time for the money to arrive, a deadline, they could present SteelJan with a gift certificate from all the folks in Voltville. Would SI be willing to do that? I know, it might be setting a precedent, and they couldn't do it all the time, but SteelJan is a special case, and they might agree if it's a one-time thing.

Hi kblush! So good to see you here! This post has probably missed you by now. I've been out in the yard all day. In fact, I've been out in the yard the last three days and it's been hard keeping up with the forum. My granddaughter has been doing some landscaping for me and I was out there trying to help a little bit. My main job though was running herd over my two year old great granddaughter and their doberman. Today another child came along, so there were two little girls and two dogs. My dog, Emma, and I are both completely worn out. Emma has already crashed and is sound asleep. What a little wimp she is. lol

Oh marlou playing can get tiring at times!! Seems like you had a marvelous full on day. You know a lil snooze next to poochy sounds good right about now :p
Lol @ kons its a good thing i supose you dont web cam stream to the thread..... Hahaha
I know i've said it before but i'll say it again, I think its a brilliant idea for steeljan. Im sure there's enough volties of those that would like to help (me included)who could help with a dollar or two and it may be enough to get a battery and new tankie or whatever. I do know that you can purchase a si gift certificates and mail the code to that person to use as they wish. But memory fails me on the amout of the certificate. & make sure you have the persons email to send it to them, or try and get it or plead.... (cindy.... Err LOL )
Have a great day , now to go and gear up and head out on 2 wheels for the day!!

OK, so SI already has gift certificates? I'd guess they are for whatever amount you want. I think that's how most gift certificates work. Correct me if I'm wrong. So who would be interested in this plan? I hope we can get Imagine's input about how involved SI is willing to become. I think we'd all feel better if we knew our money was going to someone we totally trust, and there would be several ways to send the money, too. For instance, if I collected the money, you'd all have to send me checks or money orders. Foreign funds might get tricky. I don't know how that works, but I think my bank charges a rather hefty fee to honor a foreign check. Also, you'd all have to trust me, that I wouldn't make off with the funds. And I'd know everyone's address from the checks or the return addresses on the envelopes. Not that I'm saying I want to be the person to collect the money, I'm just giving myself as an example. I'm demonstrating why it would be much better if SI would collect the money than if one of us did it. Besides, the money would eventually go to SI anyway, so it eliminates a step. We could use credit cards or whatever method we already use to pay SI for the stuff we order. Maybe we could even do it online somehow.

What do you all think of this plan? Any input? I guess we have to wait to hear from Imagine/SI to see if they will cooperate.

Bbbbrrrr!!!! The first one is really scary!!!

Well, the cats I keep seeing today look kind of normal cats to me...But one could never know! :)

Yes, today and every day is a good day for someone to adopt a pet. I am, of course, more of a dog person, but I really love cats too! And if a cat like your second pic does that to me, then my heart really belongs to that one! :)

DOG Person Myself Too . . . Like Cats - however very allergic to them . . . The worse part is most of my friends have cats and 2 in particular are "fanatics" (Rescue, Get them Spade/Neuter, and Feed Many Feral Cats) . . . Glad they don't come here with what I am about to say . . . I really think they are "Hoarders" of sorts . . . Over 30 Cats in there home (2nd Floor 2 Bdrm & Bath is dedicated to 15 of them - the rest are downstairs) and then there are at least another 60 + (If not more I think) in a very large building where they had a business . . . One of them even works at a Shelter that helps animals and tries to get them adopted out . . . I cannot even walk into their Home or Business . . . Oh Well - They ARE doing a GOOD THING . . . :D

SO GOOD of YOU (and everyone else too) to think of this . . . AND - You hit the "nail-on-the-head" . . . :)

Professionally speaking - that is exactly the Right and Correct thing to do - Let her know we care (via SI)
and give "SteelJan" time to recoup from the mess . . . Hopefully - she already knows "We" Do Care for HER and will come back "Home" to Voltville when she is ready to be with "Us" again . . . :D
