Rave - do you DIY everything? I think it is really cool... :2cool:

Oh Darlin' - you have NO idea. Yes - Everything. I even made my own vanity tops for the bathrooms with opal and other gemstone inlays. My husband used to give folks a tour of the upstairs bathroom just to show it off. Puffed me up like a toad.

If I didn't DIY everything, how to you think I could afford this little hobby of mine?

My local Staples (only about 17 miles away) won't do it. :(

Making the tea syrup is really simple. Here are the instructions:

How To Make Flavored Syrups | Foodie Knowledge

Thanks, Rave! I saved that article to print out the parts I'll need later.

I had to take another break and naturally took it at the computer. lol When I went to fill the watering can for the plants in the sunroom the faucet came off in my hand! With the water running! Mercy....after looking at the inside of the faucet and the 'stem' it attached to I figured out how it had to go back on. Success! The water is now off and the plants are all watered.

Since it's almost 6:30 I'm going to get off here for awhile and make supper. If something comes apart on the stove you will hear me screaming all over the country. Maybe even in Australia and Greece! lol

@ "TK" - What did You Do To "Our Own Little Rodent" - I've set him up for some wonderful come backs and to get us all laughing on "The Funny Pages' Thread and NO REPLIES ? ? ? ? ;)

@ "Rave" - View attachment 90832

The squirrel is not a happy rodent the last couple of days. My X2 is messed up and it needs to be replaced. I will be without it for probably a week by the time I can send it out and get a replacement. I'd love to have multiple units, but I'm not made of money. :(
I'm requesting an auto batt as a replacement.

The button on it doesn't have any play in it anymore. It's like it's permanently mostly depressed. All I have to do is touch the button for it to turn on sometimes and sometimes I have to jiggle it to get it to turn off. Those cartos can get hot! I'm kinda afraid to use it now.

So, in the meantime, I have to use my 65 and 78mm ones and I didn't realize how attached I got to the X2. Plus, to rub salt into the wound further, this happens the day I get my clearomizers!

The squirrel isn't going to be good company for awhile, I'm afraid. But, I do enjoy reading other people's posts.

A woman after my own heart Rave...

That is part of my and my wife's problem... Why should we pay someone to do something when they will not do it the way we want it done... so we do it ourselves and count the money we saved. Why do you think I was cleaning gutters today... I have my own trusty little gutter hoe / water gizmo that I made out of spare parts and I climb the ladder and get it done... I made / saved $300 today... Gonna spend it on my vacation instead...

I'm sorry Squirrel  I understand quite well how easy it is to get attached to the X2. CS will make it all better. (((HUGS)))

Really sorry to hear about the bad luck TK. The clearomizers work on the 78mm also. Rave is already testing them in that configuration and Imagine said they would, but would look top heavy... Who cares about top heavy - vape em...

An no you cannot leave this bunch alone - especially uncle - I guess I have been bad also, but we need your humor and guidance... Remember you got the best soap box in the bunch... :D

No, no - This is NOT a "problem". This is a verrry good thing. It feels so good to know that this is money saved, and that you can have a sense of accomplishment for not needing someone else to do it. :)

You know, My Friends Tom & Cindy who own "the Mill" in the Photos I showed everyone, since Tom built almost everything from scratch . . . Their place was a segment of HGTV's "Extreme Homes" . . . It would be nice if yours was too . . . But alas, since they are no longer on the air, would you ever consider doing a "Video" to show us Your home . . . You know a walk though showing us all the "stuff", especially what you and your husband built and/or made - I know I would "LOVE" to see it all . . . hint - hiNT - HINT ;)

Yea, sure missing TK's charm... Maybe we picked on him to much...

Uncle I have a sonic cleaner on my watch list, but have not seen quality and price combined yet - sounds like you should have grabbed that one. The coffee pot that I was talking about is a CuisinArt - got it at a bankruptcy clearance sale on the last day of the sale (last one - open box - never been plugged in - did not have a book - so I know how to make coffee and we sterilized it before we used it)... A lot of the time the good deals have to do with timing and being able to talk to someone. Every retailer has a recycling time on products - learn it for your local stores and you can save bucks... you have to find someone to tell you what it is though and sometimes that is hard...

Sometimes you have to buy a lot (remaining stock that is) to get a good deal. Can you resell it? Can you give them as presents? For example my wife picked up some of those Totes House Slippers last weekend they always sell at XMas - they were in the clearance area - there were nine pairs left. She bought them all for $20 or $2.22 a pair. I got two pairs - one for the RV and one for the house, she got two also, my daughter got one and we are going to give the others for gifts... Now, I could sell the last 4 for $5 each (excellent price) and ours would be free... :D

First - Well when you find that "Sonic Cleaner" - Let me (Us) know will Ya' . . . :D

Yea- I have done the same thing . . . Made "friends" with a number of people in the stores I regually shop - I am always getting the heads-up even for stuff I am not really interested in, but I know someone else can use . . . OH TELL "Me" about "stocking-up" sales - Why do you think I've brought so much from SI when they have these GREAT SALES and I am not even Vaping full-time yet (However, NO MORE "eCig" supplies - Not even a sale for 50-75% Off ) . . .

teehee what a wrap up DM... sleeep tight!!!
Semi... careful playing with "dr" uncle... he may just somehow implant some sublime..sublingal? message... and next week you may or may not be singing some tune or eating the wrong food or worse yet hiding all your coffee stuff in unusual place ROTFL
Did someone mention RV... yes yes you did!!! and I saw it and my eyes got excited!! ohhhhh I have only been in one caravan in my lifetime... and it was the best week of my life.... Do you go on many trips SemiRetired?
Rave = i vote with uncle.... it would be lovely to see your work and where you live. ahh okay that sounds kinda scary... but what i mean is , you live in a wonderful paradise , in a home that surely has the most loved memories and it was made by two special people.
Yay so excited for you marlou!!! Do let us know how you like your flavours. I am still upset that you guys are in front- we dont even get coloured bottle lids... i dont think i'd use them but all the same....
Okay i may just spill the beans in me a lil further.... I have been a member of the simple savings club here in australia for around 5 years. I am addicted to reading things all saving/stretching and reusing related. We do fun things like pantry stocktakes and making meal planners and im am obsessed. What started as a means to save for a skiing holiday , inturn allowed me to purchase a house and keep my motorcycle.....and then i found you guys.
The loveliest bunch of people i have never seen, that allows me to ramble & ramble...
Its a good thing we have things in common, and the things we dont we learn from.
Carry on volties, volturans, .......
p.s ROn big HUGS for you... I wish for your X2 and you to be together again really soon... (sending speedy postmans your way)

If you want to travel and save money, an RV or a travel trailer is an excellent option. Of course, a tent is even cheaper, but something with an actual roof and bed is a lot more comfortable, especially when you stop for the night in a rainstorm! Bill & I went across the country, from NYC to San Francisco in 1988 and took 2 1/2 months to do it. We didn't see everything by a long shot, and we didn't take a very direct route, but it was something I had dreamed of doing all my life, and we saw many interesting things and visited many interesting places. It's a lot cheaper than staying in a motel every night, and we stopped in wilderness places where there weren't any motels, which was neat. All you have to do is find a big enough parking space for the night. We stopped in boat launch areas and even a church parking lot. We went up into Canada for a little while, then dipped back into the US. It was a fantastic trip. I did freelance work, so I got some work done while we traveled, too. We'd stop at a campsite so I could receive my next book at their office and do the laundry, take showers, dump the toilet tank, etc. Some of the highlights were stopping to see Custer's Last Stand and then going to the Crow Indian Powwow nearby, where we stayed for a few days. We went up to Mt. St. Helens some years after it had erupted to see what it was like. One place near the foot of the peak had giant douglas firs all blown over in one direction. That was from the eruption. But things were already growing back. When we were in Canada, we traveled on a road and the signs that usually told you if you were entering one location from another just said Unsurveyed Territory! We were way out in the woods. That night we parked in a boat launch area that was just some gravel next to a lake. We heard loons calling on the lake and wolves howling in the distance. Magical! At Thunder Bay, Ontario, we mined amethyst, and somewhere on the north shore of Lake Superior, we explored Native American paintings on a cliff wall above the lake. There were more adventures, like seeing Mt. Rainier in the distance, snow-capped in summer, and taking a tour of a silver mine in Idaho. I could go on and on, but I don't want to bore you all, and I have to get to sleep.

You could even take your motorcycle along, strapped to the back of the RV, and then camp someplace and take it down to tour the area. The possibilities are endless. You should do it.
