Scared the crap outta me. Especially after what I've been through with my brother.
I was pretty happy to write a check. Lol
I swore to the hubs that I'd take a year off volunteering - just help with a couple of things. Um. today I agreed to run a pie sale in late October to benefit the 8th grade retreat.
It was blackmail but he won't see it that way. I had been selected to be on our Principal search committee in the Spring. That just reeked of possible drama, especially since I knew 2 of our current staff members were interested in the position and we were looking for a replacement for a gentleman who'd been the Principal for 28 yrs. I recruited apatsy wonderful woman with a background in education who'd had 2 kids go through the school and 2 more currently attending. She called the "favor" today dang her. I thought she was a sweet woman - I should have know she knew how to play hardball.

DH's brother has put the family through a bit - we're so grateful that we live 3.5 hours away. His other brother works for the Dept of Family Services and gets second looks every so often as people realize they're related. We tease the second brother's wife that at least the association will probably keep brother 2 out of politics. He always had aspirations - but brother #1 has left a pretty good stink trail behind. Only their mom doesn't seem to notice it - oh and the woman who is soon to be his 4th wife. It's so "cute" they are getting married on 10/10/10 - too cutesie for people over 50. 2 of the 3 wives have been nice women. The 4th seems nice - but you have to question her "smarts" since she's with brother #1.
Be careful Lox - If I can find out how to ship the suckers you'll end up with them! lol
We have lots of friends all over the country because of our moves - and we've bought more than our fair share of pies, popcorns, candy bars, frozen pizzas and magazines. Now that it's our kids selling them the friends don't know us - haha!

Evening is going decent. Just got done studying for about, oh I dunno, 5 hours? Thought I would hop on PIF and see what action is going on, but alas there is none :/ must be a slow night.
We had strawberry rhubarb cobbler the other night. The kids got a kick out of the red celery. I don't think they'd even seen me make it before.
I live at the school some days. Walking club, every field trip, PTO, you name it, we participate.
Got a batch of chocolate chip brownie cookies given to me yesterday. They are gone now sadly.
Oh - gotta check the PIF - I asked a question - need to see if he responded.
