Chocolate, Double Chocolate, or Chocolate #712??

Maybe some of you can help me out. I was looking at a custom mix for the custom TV Co-Op, and I wanted a chocolate flavor, but I was thrown off by the choices. Has anyone used any of these three flavors, and can you tell me the differences between them? Thanks.

What is the difference between Chocolate, Chocolate 712 and Double Chocolate?

All three are flavorings from different vendors, have their own distinct flavor and are used for recipes where we feel they would do best.

Chocolate: Is Lorann's Chocolate. A candy flavoring chocolate, slightly dark chocolate in flavor with some dinstinct cherry backnotes. This is our Go To flavor for recipes requiring chocolate.


Chocolate 712: Is from Perfumer's Apprentice. A light flavor derived directly from cocoa extract. It has cocoa/milk chocolate flavor. This does quite well as an accent to liquids, more than a predominant flavor.


Double Chocolate: Is from Capella's. It has a rich, dark chocolate flavor and does well in liquid that call for a rich, heavy chocolate flavor.

My personal favorite is the double chocolate much more pronounced and rich!

Oh jeez, thank you VaporingQueen, I guess I'm a typical male, and didn't RTFM (or in this case, the FAQs).

That being said, which do people prefer? My mix was Chocolate/Coconut/Banana Creme, so what do you think would go best with this?

I'd go with Chocolate 712. I just put some in some strong coffee liquid, it has a good milk cho taste plus it is a clear liquid (easy on attys).

Chocolate 712 was the one Geoff had me use to make milk chocolate (712/vanilla/dairy.) I think dairy flavors need extra time to ripen. It took about a month for it to become a nice, light, creamy, milky chocolate.
