(I believe I have a KR808 automatic from OMG SmokeFree. $150.00 spent on starter unit(s) and 3 boxes (5 ind carts each) of carts)

Again, I know that surely someone else has these questions so here goes:

Is it true that the slower you inhale, the better the throat hit? I'm really really having trouble with consistent throat hit. I gotta have that to make this work for me.

I've already gone through 3 carts in TWO days. I read that each cart is supposed to be equilv to 2 packs. Can't be accurate.

24 hours no analog. I'm crabby. I'm this close to going and buying analogs.

I want to spend all day combing this forum because it will keep me sane and on track but I can't. Business owner.. swamped.

Do you all "prime" or take puffs before you inhale?

Can someone who uses an automatic answer a VERY silly question and go through step by step of HOW you smoke these ecigs? I wonder if I am doing it wrong. Ugh. And if you were to take a drag let's say 30 secs later would you do ALL those steps again.

Wish I could get as much vapor as what's in the picture on this forum. And I like that ecig too.

Thanks in advance.. why must I make this complicated?

Will work for a bit and check back with you all!

Just a word of warning...

Automatic batteries can have a much bigger learning curve than manual batteries.
And most of them also have a cutoff that might prevent you from taking long drags.

Automatic batteries often take some practice to get them working good.

Stand in front of a mirror and watch the LED as you take drags.
You want to see how hard you need to draw on it to get that LED lit.
And you want to see how hard you need to draw on it to keep it lit as long as possible.

For some automatic batteries your only choice is to do consecutive short drags.
And it is often said that a quick short initial draw (primer puff) followed by a real drag will work well.

A lot of people recommend slower, longer draws.
Most people recommend getting a manual battery instead.

Hey DC2.. I got your link. Thanks for passing that on to me. Ok, will read about manuals as well. Sounds like it might be for me. ;)

Hiya Christy,

I started with GreenSmoke, which I believe is a straight KR808D. I got carts from them, too.

The way I vaped was to prime it in 3 short drags first, then inhale. As time went by, I learned instinctively to slightly cover the holes at the LED with my hand and this created a bigger TH somehow for me.

I really liked this brand, afterall it was the first I started with. I have kept all of the carts and refill them with juice on my own. First I did it with a syringe, now the condom method. I have used these since July 1, 2010. Unless they have a miserable draw or taste burnt after filling, I keep them and reuse them.

I kept a couple packs of cigs while I transitioned, actually not even being aware that I was quitting! I smoked and vaped for a couple days and then committed to being analog free and I have been since July 1. I think you can do it, too. Let it be a pleasant process if at all possible.

Hi Christy...welcome!

I'm a noob too, but from what I've been reading, and from my own personal experience, there are a lot of people who don't quit smoking right away. Instead, they just kind of cut down naturally as analogs start smelling and tasting worse. Personally, I did a combo of vaping and smoking for about two weeks before I finally gave up the analogs altogether. I still crave analogs sometimes, but I've been able to resist the temptation by reminding myself of how nasty that analog will taste.

Also, as far as being crabby goes, there are anti-depressants in analogs...once you cut them out completely, you aren't getting the anti-depressant anymore and your mood can go down. I suffered a couple of really serious bouts of depression for the first few days, but I'm fine now.

Good luck, and don't give up!

:D

It is a KR808D-2 thus the fact that they are harder to get, and come with 4 cartomizers to a pack instead of the "normal" 5

An original KR808 has threads similar to a 510, and uses an atty similar to a 401

The D-1 is the first KR to use cartomizers out of the box. The D-2 was designed to be a better unit, but has not caught on like the D-1.
