Wondering how your chrome plated mods and RBAs are faring in rough work environments. I'm wondering if I should designate an RM2 or two for my workhorse Silver Anodized REOs. Not that I go carelessly tossing them around onto concrete, rocks, hard surfaces and edges, especially from heights, but she at happens.

Have you gotten any dings, gouges, etc., on your RM2s for instance? Did you take any measures to buff out or make look better?

I have a brass, milled down RM2 on workhorse Mini right now. It hasn't taken any major abuse. But the brass can be smoothed out and polished a bit unless gouge is too deep.

I'm mostly wondering about the chrome RM2s.

Pete, Darrell?

Thanks, Feisty Alice

All mine are chrome and they are all still working - they have been battered and dropped the same as my Reo. It is possible to dent it a little - but i have not managed to chip any chrome off. In fact - in the old spirit of 'let's see what happens' i blowtorched the top of one at the weekend!

I dropped mine a few times but it still looks new.Course it only fell a couple feet onto a wood floor.

Golly T I left you out. Make that question to all and T, Darrell, Pete. Thanks. I like the ease of being able to switch all the RM2s between all REOs (so all milled) and my two main workhorses are Mini 1 and 2.0. Neither have taken a major toss since I got the RM2s but it's only a matter of time.

I had to chuckle. That's relative pampering by some standards.:D And most of my REOs are pretty pampered. I attempt to keep most away from rugged conditions but ....z does happen. Blk/white VVG with Trippy jumped off the deck railing, 10 ft to rocks, when I was taking pictures. We lucked out. I used to order DH's favorite colors of CV Pawns by multiples because he broke so many from drops. They will even break on wood and vinyl floors if they hit just right. More likely on ceramic floors. Even more so onto rocks and concrete. And they seem to most often hit "just right." Thankfully he prefers the plain, black delrin DTs now and he mostly carries Spinners with Mini Nova tanks out.

I had one Knucklehead DT separate when REO went flying off of bathroom counter onto ceramic. REO was unscathed though.

I saw that. Pretty cool. I'll probably be a little more daring when I amass more. I only have five RM2s now. I think taking one down to Copper layer looks cool. Copper with a clear coat would be nice.

I don't know who Pete is but a proper chrome plating should be very durable. Most of the Chinese mods do not have good quality chrome plating. I started wearing through my Vamo in a matter of months. I just can't handle the finger prints. I am too OCD like about fingerprints.

I'm not fond of fingerprints either but can handle plenty of mud on floors with so many Bubs letting us live in their den. But it did take time at adjust to lowering my clean floor standards (and lengthy illness). I love the satin finish on my Buz Pro. Nary a fingerprint. For some reason DH's shiny Twisters and Spinners aren't fingerprint magnets. But it may be that his hands never get dirty or stay dirty for more than seconds. He goes through a lot of exam gloves. He uses them even for eating finger foods and, yes, he carries them to restaurants.
