This is not the board for politics-- I blog a great deal on politics under another handle and in other venues-- but Uncle Chuckles is, right now, about the most effective party Congressional head. That's not saying much, considering the competition and the fact he hasn't got a lot to work with, especially money. But it's the ground truth right now. And yeah, you're right: that's concerning.

Both the Daily News and Schumer have no idea what they are talking about. The article claimes that the FDA has put off enforcing the regulations, which is un true, they are still able to enforce all of the points Scumer is referring to. Rubbish article about a lunatic ill informed politician.

Both Chuck and the Daily News know this is Untrue. But that Never got in the way of either of them beating the "We Have to Save the Children" drum.

Remember, most of what comes out of Chuck's mouth is geared toward People who are Uninformed on the Issues.

Vote Schumer, declare yourself a fool.

There is sometimes a Fine Line between a Fool and just someone who is Ill-Informed.

Think how Reasonable Chuck's statements would sound if you knew Nothing about Deeming or e-Cigarettes? Kinda like about 99.5% of the Population.

Way Back When, a Media Outlet took some Ownership in what they printed. And if Elected Official made a False Statement, they would be Called Out on it. Because the role of the Media was to Inform. And not to be a Tool of Political Hype.

But those Days are LONG Gone.

Today the Media is an Active Participant in the Dissimilation of Mis-Information, Half Truths and in some cases Outright Lies.

But that Sells Copy. And that is what Helps Keep the people They want in office. So it's kinda a Win -Win for them.

Ought to be good for modders working in secret in their garages. Psssssst... wanna buy a mech?

You don't have to limit yourself to mechanical mods.
Evolv sells their dna chipsets as bare boards both individually, and in lots of 10.

I know, but thank you anyway. So does YiHi. I've built both before. I might mention I don't consider mechanical mods "limiting"... :)

I thought his position & presentation were laughable, which I guess is clear from my letter to their editors (which is surely long buried by now).

Schumer calls for regulations on e-cigs to limit teen vaping

Senator Schumer is smart enough to know that there's now more than adequate proof that (a) e-cigs do NOT lead to conventional tobacco use, and (b) any teen that's vaping is 99% likely to be a smoker if vaping weren't an option.

Given the overwhelming evidence of how much less harmful vaping is than smoking, it makes me wonder why such a smart man would say such dumb things. The only two things I can come up with are, (1) his contributors applying pressure, most likely tobacco industry executives, and/or (2) the fact that the state of NY sold bonds prematurely, counting on MSA money that has since reduced with the advent of vaping.

The one thing that's certain is that it is NOT his constituents' health that he's concerned with, but instead with somebody's pockets. Whether the pockets are his or his state's is pretty much irrelevant.

He should be ashamed of himself.

So basically, adults can't have access to something because some kid might sneak around and get it? They banned flavored cigarettes and flavored ejuice because it attracts kids and minorities can't resist menthol. Hasn't gone into effect yet. But that is twisted logic.

Besides the parents should be watching what the kids are doing.

I would love to know exactly how many kids are shelling out $49.99 for a Juul starter kit and then $14.99 for a couple of refill pods. I will grant you that a handful might be, but I would highly doubt it's a significant number.
I'm pretty sure the kids are shelling out more on beer when the get the chance.

You gotta love statistics!

"One in five New York high school students have used an e-cigarette in the last year, according to data from the New York State Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Advisory Board — nearly double the national rate."

That means very little without:

1. How many of those "one in five" have used a cigarette in the last year?
2. How many of those "one in five" used an e-cigarette less then 10 times or less then a day or week?

It doesn't take very many brain cells to realize more information is needed before enacting federal or state legislation. But we are talking about Schumer!
1 out of 5, which was actually 4, who turned out to all be the same person.
