The big con on the chuck, IMO, is the switch. I have two, and like them a lot, but the switch puts holes in my finger, and I've broken both by dropping it. The big Pro is the graphics. Since the PV is personal, the ability to customize it is a tremendous benefit...
It is well built, so it's a solid, consistently performing unit, but it's really the graphics that set it apart.

No mods to compare it to. I don't have any trouble with the switch at all, I know if I drop it I'll scratch it up and possibley break the switch. From what I have read, I don't loose sleep over it because it seems that Jeff has a fine reputation in regards to any repairs. I get a hoot out of knowing my mods are unique, no one else has one like mine.
It does make it a bit more fun. Eventually, maybe I'll get bored with it all and back off the vaping but I'll never go back to smoking thanks to my chucks.

They are not complicated, they are well built and they are built BY the supplier which to me is a huge.

I have both the Prodigy V1 and the V2, I also have 2 big Chucks and a little one waiting to be "born" ... I personally would have to go with the Chuck ... I can pick up my Chuck and _know_ it will work .. each and every time, I don't even think about it anymore, the Prodigy, not so much ... they often times require "tinkering" .. losen this, tighten that, press the switch at this angle, nope, try another angle ... I personally, am tired of "tinkering", I just want to vape :) The Chuck's switch is easily depressed ... but given this knowledge, you do what you need to do in order to avoid any mishaps .. for me, if it's traveling in my back pocket, the atty/carto comes off .. pretty simple :) The Prodigy is indeed a very nice device for the right type of person... I am not one of those people ... I LOVE my Chucks ;)

Yeah. that seems to be the general opinion. I'm just surprised no company has come out with one yet with a little slide or flip back cover over the button to prevent accidentally hitting it in your pocket, etc. Honestly my one main holdout on the chuck is custom graphics aside the button configuration etc does make it look like what it is, individually made.

I really do tend to like the slick look of the v2 just because it seems a bit more streamlined and clean but since I'm looking for it for smoking home not out I guess that becomes a moot point.

the unreliability of the switch and switch problems on the Prodigy has me pretty much permanently scared off of them..
For the price I'd definitely go chuck...though I havent ordered one yet myself...my focus has been on another model entirely (the 18650 precise which just was released for preorder tonight)...though the chuck is on my list of to get things

I have one XHaler, two Prodigy V2's and one Thermo. I never use the Thermo, runs too hot for me. I had trouble with the switch on the V2's but it seems to be repaired now. They are very nice mods. I keep the NHaler in my hand all day, you won't get it away from me.

I also have a Prodigy Pass Through that I'm extremely happy with and I think I'll order a second one tonight if someone will tell me the latest coupon code for PureSmoker.

Um... you do realize that this is the subforum for Chucks, don't you?

While I was waiting for my Chuck, I bought two Screwdriver Mk 1s during their twofer offer. They're fine. I like the lanyard. I don't like the button on the bottom. But even though I'm having some minor problems with my Chuck (Jeff doesn't read e-mails on weekends so I'm waiting until tomorrow to write to him), I still think it vapes better than the Screwdriver.

Wow, I have to say that Precise one looks pretty freakin slick. I'll probably end up getting one at some point in the future. My view is with how much I'm saving not smoking cigs I can justify playing with a few different ones.

I definitely appreciate all the responses. I'm pretty set on trying a chuck but hearing about other options as well to try later never hurts.

I know it's a chuck forum but I figured that would be the best place to get any comments from people that had them on what the downsides as well as upsides were since nothing's ever perfect and I figure better to be inforrmed and get the whole picture, good, bad, and ugly.

No, sorry, I didn't. I just saw the Chuck vs Prodigy headline. I'll read more carefully in the future.

OMG, you're my inspiration! :D My husband actually suggested today that I need a third Chuck. He wants me to put his nickname for me on it. I don't want to argue with him, so now I just have to decide what color and whether to get a Chuck or a little Chuck.
