Good morning,folks. A frigid 8 degrees here.

8 degrees? that's cold enough to begin experiments in cryonics! imagine, a whole city, put to sleep only to be awoken far into the future! during a time when the persecution of vapors has not only ended, but actually reversed so that those that persecute vapors are forced to parade in the vape filled streets wearing loin cloths made from extinct animals! a time when disease and famine are gone and moonpies and twinkies are considered the healthiest foods and rationed out to the populace at large as a reward for a hard days work of making sure soap operas are properly filmed and amusement park rides dont break dont. a glorious time to be alive, the future.

odd, usually my meds kick in by now.

A beleza que não é só minha
(A beauty that is not only mine)
Que também passa sozinha
(that also passes alone)

(for the translation)

I also sipped a cold "Brahma" at that Cafe Veloso where the inspiration for the song took place for Jobim and De Moraes. Ironically, it is not in Ipanema, but about 3/4 miles west, in Leblon. No matter, the Girl cannot be contained in the 1.5 miles of Ipanema Beach.

Such memories...

ahhh Portuguesa....a language so foul that straining a live pig through a meat grounder sounds better.

i imagine some super secret robed council somewhere was saying, "hey, lets take the worst parts of spanish, latin, and Semitic verbage and smush them into a jar of expired mayonnaise and see how it sounds!" then they prayed to their evil pagan gods of olde and sacrificed a live herring in offering.

If (back in the days of yore) you had my girlfriend from Ipanema, Luciana, whispering Portuguese into your ear, you would melt. (Actually, Luciana could have whispered Icelandic, Chinese, Sumali, and it'd be poetic, but I digress)

Portuguese is the sultry, sexy child of the Romance Languages.

And this coming from a Texan? Where "Texas" is a one syllable word, and "Yep" could be three??? (and where they use the word "verbage" when they probably mean "verbiage"?)
