Just built my first clapton: kanthal 32ga wrap/26ga core, dual/6 wrap, cotton. I have it set up in a Stillare v4. Build came out at .62ohm. Everything was looking good...then I hit it starting at 30w. HARSH! Don't know what the issue is. I don't have much experience with drippers. Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, I have the air holes set right under the coils, but due to how I have the coils themselves positioned, the cotton must be restricting the flow.
There are post holes, but since the clapton wire is so thick, I couldn't get both coils threaded into the positive terminal, so it ended up higher on the deck. I'm going to see if I can pull out 2 of the neg posts to get more real estate lower down and reduce wicking and see if that helps.
Thanks!

What a difference. Snapped off 2 neg posts and reconfigured my coils to side-mount. I ended up threading one thru the pos post hole and wrapping the other around the screw. Then used less cotton. My air holes line up right over my coils now. It's still a tiny bit harsher than I'd prefer, but maybe the citrus from my MBV Wild Cherry juice is contributing to a sharper bite. One other thing, my screw-mounted coil heats up a second or two before the one mounted thru the post hole. All in all, a big improvement. You guys see anything else I could tweek?
