Clean cartos not vaping?

So im new to the vaping world and have just started out with refilling cartos... after a few fills i see the filling is brown in colour so i decided to wash a few of them out using hot water. After letting them dry for a few days and refilling them with my usual juice (100%VG) im getting little to no vapor. The carto still makes the hissing sound.

Am I doing something wrong?

Cartos take a long time to dry out, and VG is very thick. Most likely the hissing you can hear is steam from water.

If the filler is brown the carto is probably burnt. Chuck it out. You can clean and even rebuild other devices like most clearomisers, but cartomisers just need to be replaced.

To avoid burning your cartos make sure you never run them dry, either by keeping them topped up or by putting them in a tank.

Welcome O2,

I use Kanger horizontal coil cartos, the coil is at the bottom so the juice flows down to the wick. But that also means the bottom/wick area is the last to dry after a wash.

I have taken to spinning them with a 1mtr cord to get as much water out as possible. I give them a day or so on the warm TV and then into the freezer.

The freeze seems to pull the last bit of water out and makes a huge difference in how the filler takes juice. Before I started freezing them, they would never take juice like they did when new. Give it a shot.

I will use a carto for about 3 days before washing and recycling.
I can cycle them three or four times , juice dependent, and then I toss them.
If it burns or tastes burnt, EVER, I toss it.

Good luck
I
