Cleaning 510 Cartomizers

Hey y'all,

I want to clean my 510 cartomizers and was wondering the best method. I've seen them ranging from holding under hot water and blowing out, to pouring boiling water over them and then shooting water through them with a syringe.

I was wondering what the best method would be. Can i use them after I blow through them to get the water out? Slightly confused, as I don't want to damage anything.

Cartomizers(aka Cartos) or Atomizers(aka Atty)...there is a difference.

Reason I ask is, maybe I'm wrong, but you dont typically clean cartos. They are more a refill until they get blah and throw them out kinda thing.
If you where to clean them, I pretty sure you would have to pull the stuffing/fibers out, clean them out and then put in new stuffing (or use like a regular atty with a driptip at that point)

I put them in boiling water a couple of times and let them sit. Then, I used a syringe to push boiling water through them. The filler is now white and they are drying. Some suggest a final bath in vodka, but I don't have any handy!

Let us know if that works, how long it took to dry, etc. I've never heard of cleaning cartomizers and would be interested in the results.

I've cleaned some of my cartomizers by soaking them in hot water for a bit, then blow out as much water as I can, then put them someplace warm with air movement to dry for a day or so. Haven't tried this with real strong flavors, but has worked for me.
