Cleaning before first use?

Should new tanks, clearomizers and such be cleaned before first use?

I know alot of people say you should but just wondering if there is any actual harm in not cleaning them? I know there can be a bit of a flavor change is some cases but..... anything else?

Some metal parts may have amounts of machining oil on them. When I received my a7 rdas they were practically dripping with the stuff. This should be thoroughly rinsed to remove.

A lot of wicks can come with a primer solution that doesn't taste too great & can be removed with a wash, though I've also used them without rinsing.

I would wash all pices, you never know what is on them. just my

Just like a new coffee pot, wash that puppy before use.
