Hi

I've been vaping for just a few weeks and regularly clean my attys with comressed air from a can (which seems to work well). I am unsure, however, of how to clean the carts. I found some info in the thread about pneumonia about soaking them in alcohol; but the type of alcohol isn't specified. I'm pretty sure Guinness wouldn't work for example (OK, I'm being flippant - but you see my point).

Elsewhere, I have seen references to "rubbing alcohol". I have never seen this for sale in the UK, but it sounds like something Grandpa Simpson puts on his legs! Could I use meths or surgical spirit? And what would the best method be?

Thanks for any help.

just buy new ones, you need replace the filler on a regular basis, but you can use re use it for a little while. just wash it out under the tap and give it a good squeeze, good as new. And well if you do want keep reusing the plastic them just use .... cleaner on them, since its safe to inhale.

Thanks Crash. Actually, I washed some in Fairy Liquid and that seemed to do the trick. I just got a bit worried when I read that dirty carts could conceivably cause pneumonia. I had pneumonia as a kid and certainly don't want it again. I have been using Lipton Teabags as filler, so didn't want to keep buying new carts unnecessarily. I also found out, thanks to a visitor message from one of our American cousins, that "rubbing alcohol" is actually isopropyl alcohol, which can be bought cheaply on ebay (thanks for that info Stephaniems).
