I have gotten standard CE2's to last up to 3 weeks each with no loss of vapor or flavor. Most of the time I wind up breaking the thing instead of the coil burning out.

They come 5 in a pack for between 7 to 10 dollars depending on where you shop with sales, coupon codes etc. They hit great and hold enough juice to keep you from filling every 15 minutes. Making 1 last 3 weeks is very economical.

Here's my take on cleaning them after trial and error. I'd like to hear better ways that you may have found.

You cannot simply blow out a CE2 because they are not designed like a cartridge. Ya have to clean them now and then because burnt discolored juice particles will cloud your juice and taste bad. I used to GENTLY take the tube off and rinse them under water, then pat dry and do a small dry burn to dry them. ( be careful when pulling the tube off the first time because the white ring can get stuck and pull with the tube and pull off the soldiered wires) Water rinses work great but it seems to be harsher on the coil when your dry burn. I only rinse them now with water if I can let them sit a long time to fully air dry.

Because I only like to use one CE2 at a time before I open another one I needed to find a better way to quick clean so I can reuse it.

Now I use PG to wash out the CE2's. I think this is easier on the coil and wick. Otherwise you have to dry the water off really good before you can refill, you don't want the water mixing with the e-juice. If you have one, (I don't) you can try using a hair dryer to dry off the CE2 after rinsing it with water. A 16 oz bottle of PG will cost you about 5 bucks and last a very long time. I fill the tube half way, shake it a bit then pour it out and repeat. I take the tube off and gently pat the rest and wick dry with a paper towel. Then I use a 3.7 volt battery to dry burn before I refill and put it back on my 5 volt passthrough. I feel using a lesser voltage than the one I normally use helps me give it a good burn without frying the coil.

I have yet to find a good way to remove the ash from the coil/wick after a dry burn so I just let it stay on.

I have broken a few CE2's by trying to knock off the ash by thumping the coil with my finger. The tube comes out of the bottom of the threaded part. If the wires break your screwed. If the wires do not break, sometimes you can put the tube back in and because it makes good contact, the CE2' will work again (but you may have to be more careful about knocking it around)

Anyone find anything that works better? I'm looking to eek out as much life as I can from each of these puppies.

I generally just soak and flush mine out with the tube on but if you remove the tube to clean yours you can gently fold a paper towel around the wick and press the water out. That will make your dry burns go much quicker.

You have to be a little more aggressive with a dry burn to get the wick around the coil white again. I use a 5v pass through to do it.

The best thing I've found to make the CE2s last is be as gentle with the wick as possible, that's one reason I mostly clean them with the tube on. The wick is what's gone on mine first. I've never popped the atty on one.

I've tried to emulate the atty burn but in a less intense/stressful way.

I built a little circuit so I can screw them on and them them 'simmer' at 2 volts for a couple of hours. It doesn't get hot enough to actually burn anything, but the constant heat does seem to affect the gunk's adhesion and stability.

Plundering iso alc through them afterwards gets most of it off the coil. Sometimes I have to repeat it.

I can get the coils so they look nearly new, it doesn't damage the wicks (I'm not sure you can damage them!), I haven't (so far) broken a single coil.
