Just got my prodigy a few days ago. Gotta say, when it's working it's the greatest. However within about a day r so I ran into a lot of the problems I've been seeing on this forum: with my 510 adaptor three of four adaptor don't work at all (they have been blown out, cleaned, and drained).

With the 801 adaptor I had much better results for about a day. The past two days hav been very sporatic. One atty works great for an hour then massive decrease in vapor as if the batts are dying.

I've seen a lot of posts regardig this problem, 99% of which say to clean the contact points and make surethe connection is good.

Questions:

what are some good methods for cleaning the adaptors and attys?
Is there something I can do to hold the batts in place inthe cylinder?
How many drops to drip effectively in both the 510 and 801?
Any other good maintenance tips and advice?

Do you have a multimeter? They are priceless for diagnosing the issues your having. Very cheap little device you can get from any local hardware. ie. home depot, menards, lowe's or even radio shack. Actually I just picked up a nice little unit at walmart for $15.

I find the best thing to do is take a paper towel, (I find the brown paper ones work the best because they're stiffer) and fold it up so you have a nice sharp corner.

First, I slide it down in the groove of the adapter and get all the juice from inside the well and then I press it against the threads of the contact post and get as much juice and gunk out as possible. Then I make sure to get all the juice of the top of the post and inside the rubber durin groove.

Lastly, I take another corner and get inside the groove of the atomizer, and I mash it down in there to get the liquid in the threads. This seems to work pretty well for me.

Oh, sorry. Forgot you had other questions.

See above

Is there something I can do to hold the batts in place inthe cylinder?

I think so, but I'm the wrong person to answer this. I just bent the center of the spring in so it makes better contact with the batteries. No problems.

How many drops to drip effectively in both the 510 and 801?

Not sure about the 510, but for the 801 I'd say about 3, or 4 if wanna flood it.

Any other good maintenance tips and advice?

So far the only advice I have is: keep it clean, keep it wet, when the atty gets hot put it down, don't drip on a hot atty, don't run your batteries all the way down.

Oh, sorry. Forgot you had other questions.

I hate to be a needy newbie but is there anyway you could upload a pic of what your spring looks like bent? is it just the top part? Is it bent straight up or at an angle?

Also, how are your puresmoker attys working? So far the one 801 atty that came with the prod is the only one working well. All of my attys from esmokeytreats and ruyandirect are either burned out or not making good contact...I ask this because im thinking about ordering a bunch of 801 and 510 attys from them and don't want to waste more money on this technology if I'm not gonna be satisfied...

Thanks for all your help. I've been dripping onto my hot attys for the past few day, which may be the reason none of them seem to work.

Again, many thanks!!

No problem Young, That's what we're here for, to help each other. I don't have the ability to take a pic and post at the moment, but I can describe if it'll help.

At the end of the spring, the last little curl goes around the edge of the battery. I just curled the spring end in a little more than it already was so that it crosses the middle of the battery, rather than just touching the plastic edge.

I'll see if I cant upload a pic later if I that doesn't help.

What does the Hobby Lobby tool do that a Qtip can not?
With a Qtip they are too fat to get around the 801 adapter. They are fine with the 901. This tool is just the right size for the 801 and with the sponge material and flexible aluminum insert they do a great job of cleaning the connections.

I am new to the Prodigy too, I have an 801. Definately try bending the end of the spring a tad, it really helped mine. Also I took a sheet of copy paper, folded in half lengthwise, cut it to the length of the batteries and rolled it up and put it inside the housing. My batteries slide in and out just fine but they dont wobble around in the casing. These two tips from another user solved my connection problems that were much like what you explain. Good luck

I have done both of these recommended tricks and I love the results. Still having atty problems tho, 0 of 4 510s work and 2 of 4 801s work. Im loving the working 801s, but still considering buying some 510s from puresmoker.

any thoughts?
