Cleaning eGo-C Atty's

I've been using rubbing alcohol to clean out my eGo-C atty's, along with a self made plunger. I then pop the spike off and do several short dry burns to make sure the whole coil lights up. It's been working great for the last four weeks. Anyone see any problems with this?

Dry burning usually isn't recommended but lots of people do it. I've never had an ego-c but from the little bit I know about the device it sounds like you're on the right track. Maybe someone who has had one before can chime in.

What's the plunger for?

The plunger works by swishing the liquid (water or rubbing alcohol) through the atty, back and forth. Basically it's a syringe with a bit of rubber tubing that fits the eGo-C atty perfectly.

Sounds good to me. Use the alcohol instead of the water. Water leaves deposits behind but alcohol will evaporate cleanly.

Not only that, but it seams to do better at cleaning the black stuff out of the wicks.

I use Everclear 190 proof to rinse, and don't perform any sort of surgery (just a personal preference, too much of a hassle).

Since you're using rubbing alcohol, I'd imagine you'll want to make sure that is has completely evaporated before using.

It's a good idea to have a pack of cartos as a backup. I have not used the ego tank systems myself, but I've read a lot here where people have problems with them.

Cartos are cheap, easy and disposable.

I can see where backups are important! I've got an extra 5-pack of atty's on hand, plus 7 CE4+'s (all of which gurgle, 4 of which leak) and a Vision Low Resistance Clearomizer which works well. I've also got a Smok eGo Dual Coil that I just can't seem to get to work right. I think I might have overfilled it the first time.
