wow crest mouthwash? no harm?

I've tried a lot of solutions, this continued to be the winner on each test. It beats the hell out of a bunch of other solutions I tried and it's already mixed! try it, it works! it worked for me and a bunch of other atty's that were in the test, in fact , every atty in the test was cleaned very nicely using pro health. I couldn't find anything better....

Atomizers do not require cleaning.

Blow out an atomizer from the battery end and turn it upside down to drain on a paper towel every night. That is the best routine to promote atomizer health.

The world is full of opinions.... I just don't happen to share this one.

This is waht a used atty coil looks like (courtesy Trog):

All the blowing and draining in the world isn't going to get that off. You need a solvent and a bath.

True that but we don't know the history of the atty in that picture. How do we know it's not 6 months old and has been heavily used every day with no cleaning at all (which is how I treat all of mine).:D If it had been blown out every now and then from the time it was new maybe it would not have gotten that bad. I'm another believer in the do no cleaning theory. I blow them out on occasion if one gets flooded but other than that I just use it till it gives up and I've had very few of them give up so far. In my case the atty's usually outlast the batteries 3 to 1.

I support the post by Keef. Atomizers do not need to be cleaned. They are disposable items that need to be discarded as soon as they no longer produce sufficient vaper.

Disagree with my viewpoint all you want, clean all you want, you are fooling yourself if you belive that cleaning actually increases the life of your atomizers.

What may work is a daily routine of blowing out your atomizers and letting them drain overnight. Otherwise, spin your wheels.

Took my own atty (510) apart a couple of nights ago (made a cartomizer adapter out of it). It was two weeks old and looked substantially WORSE than the one shown. It didn't have "goobers" and soft stuff on it (that a solvent could have removed), it had hard carbonized nodules on it that probably came from dry burns and overheating. Less of a chance for the solvents to get rid of that.

well be sure to keep that atty moist. do you put a drop or 2 on it? helps with the over heating and dryburns

I like how you back up your strong opinion with logic, or common sense, or empirical evidence.

But you're absolutely right... when an atty stops producing "sufficient" or desirable vapor, you can certainly throw it out. You can also get a new car when the tires get low. It's all personal preference and economics.

"Dry burns" is an idea that gets tossed around as an atty cleaning method. Some feel that if you do a "dry burn" until the atty turns red (goes semi-incandescent) the goop will vaporize or turn into carbon that will flake off of the coil. There are many that feel they get good results with this method. I'm not one of them personally... but I understand what they are going for.

As far as use is concerned, you'll get the feel for it and will be able to quickly tell when your cart is going dry or when the atty isn't wicking properly. The vapor usually gets thin and "whispier", and you'll notice a change in taste. Time to change carts or fill her back up.
