Clearomisers vs. Cartomisers?

I like the idea of clearmisers, and the ability to check juice level, wash out, etc etc.

But, at four times the price, do they last four times as long? Or do they have aq similar life expectancy as a normal carto?

4x the price? Where are you getting them from? They are the same prices where I get them from, the only difference is one you can see thru the other you can't.

I was looking at Liberty Flights UK where a pack of 5 Boge cartos isn't far off the price of a single eGo vision clearo

I don't know about the UK, but here in the states, they run close to the same price. Clearos are okay (ce2's). I always had to tinker with them to get a decent vape...they don't wick fast enough for me so I gave up and stay with either Boge or dual coil cartos (DCC's are not to be used on a battery that is less then 650mah).

Before investing heavily in a clearomizer (CE2) device, be forwarned of the difference in flavor performance.

CE2 were once notorious for producing a burnt flavor, an effect now largely forgotten. But they continue—in my experience—to tweak flavor in a direction some swear by, but others curse. There's no question they deliver a deeper, more saturated flavor than the typical cartomizer, not far behind that of direct dripping; they also push certain flavor elements center stage while subduing others, or simply drowning them out.

I vape tobacco flavors exclusively, and I find the sweet tones therein to predominate, to become sickeningly sweet. That might work well with, say, banana cream pie, but not so with Casablanca, Desert Ship, PureCig, Camtel and the like.

But that's just me. Only your own taste buds can tell you how things will play out for you, of course.

OneDay, the Ego Vision's are meant to last a lot longer than ordinary cartos, though not tried one myself - yet You can also re-wick & re-coil them, hence why they are more expensive. However, I am coming across hearing about a few folks still having cracking problems with some of them.

Like Hairball, I tend to stick with the Boges & Dual Coils.

What is the difference between a boge and a dual coil cartos? Can I use the dual coil on my kGo?

+1 on the BOGEs. I vape 80/20 PG/VG and somehow the CE2's still dont wick nearly quickly enough. Then again i tend to chain vape so it might just be me. Only problem with cartos is you gotta keep em nice and wet. Not a problem anymore with a tank setup

I had been wondering this same thing! Interesting to know it produces a different flavor and isn't only a cosmetic difference. Suppose I'll try them eventually.

I have tried both and I prefer the cartomizer with a tank. I use a 1.5ohm dual coil carto on my ego, and 2.0 single coils as well with no problem. I have heard that some people have trouble with them on ego's tho.

I think both good. Taste of eGo vision clearo lives and taste of Boge cartos is dense.

I've had no luck with clearomizers (CE2s, etc.) but it may just be the thick juices I like. If visibility is a plus for you, SmokTech makes dual coil XL cartos with batting in clear plastic, which have worked as well for me as the same item in stainless (assuming you don't use a tank). CCV and other vendors have these at the same price as stainless or black.

Is the clearomizer similar to elite, because i use my ecig when i get an urg for an analogue, but prefer the elite as it is easier to use. And i can see how much liquide is left. Is the TH on clearomizer better the elite TH? i have been using ecigs for 62 days and wouldnt go back for anything in the world. I love my ecig.....my teeth are getting wither lo!!!

I bought a Clearomizer today at my local brick and mortar shop, cost me about twice what they charge for a blank carto. It did a nice job mellowing out some cherry juice that I thought was sort of harsh, I really like it.

Vision eGo Stardusts are awesome as long as they last. Great hit, great vapor buuuut nothing lasts forever. I still have all of the original ones I bought in rotation, but they need TLC (e.g.cleaning, although I destroyed 2 of them trying to rewick with stainless steel mesh - FAIL...). None of the other "clearo's" have done it for me. Great setup for me is a 3.5ml DCTV2 tank with either 3.0 SMOK Dual Coil or 1.7 Resurrectors. (3.0ohm/4.5v-6.0v or 1.7ohm/3.7v depending on juice thickness - no LR on <450mAh batts...)
