hi there

Got a failed MAP tank from Clouds of vapor last week, it was failed and never got a response from COV so I ordered a Liquinator from Vaporescence which is a few hours away from me. Well that was a week ago too and I still haven't received, which kinda defeats the purpose of ordering from someone close to me, having to pay taxes and more on upgraded shipping when I have received items faster from the other side of the country, but enough rant.

I got myself a pack of XL CE2 clearomizers and fixed the MAP tank, but I have 2 problems :

1 - How do I clean the resistance, for the lack of the right term, the wire that seats on top of the ceramic head ? It seems to surround itself with a black gunk really often and makes vaping kind of hard.

2 - I had lost a lot of juice due to the fact the tank gets separated from the base everynow and then, I try to keep it seated as tight as I can but I have to wiggle it a little to let air get through because if I don't I can suck through the mouth piece since it forms some sort of vaccum.

I'm sorry for the veery basic questions but I'm getting started with all this, I have an Ego-T but got tired of cleaning attys.

Please let me know what can I do to improve my vaping with these devices, I'll be getting a REO soon

Thanks and take care :vapor:

Cleaning a CE2

If you can take it out easily....get a small butane torch (I got one from Radio shack that doubles as a brazing tourch or a soldering iron: it uses canned butane) and burn the wicks and coils...don't touch the black rubber stuff around the ceramic bowl with the flame tho'. It'll burn out all the liquid and turn it into a fine ash that should just blow right off.

OR

Get some Atomic Cinnamon e-liquid @ 100% PG from Tasty Vapor. Drip a few drops on the coils every few days and give it some long burns, it'll loosen the gunk up pretty well as that type of cinnamon has lots of acid in it.

If you go several days without doing an AC burn, you might want to shoot clean (distilled is best) water over the coils with your syringe after doing a few AC burns to rinse off the gunk. Repeat this a few times. You don't even have to empty your tank to do it...just drip on the coils...do burns...rinse. When done vape past the cinnamon flavor and your tank will start working again.

Thanks, will try something like that. I still owe myself buying a syringe, or several.

I know I have to replace the cartos every few days, but this one I replaced it late last night and around noon today was giving me a hard time and already all gunk up.

Darker liquids and those with a lot of VG will do that for sure. If you're in love with dark VG liquids...definately consider picking up a bottle of Tasty Vapor Atomic Cinnamon at %100 PG to drip on the coils every couple of days. For me it makes it easier to get the gunk out.

I'd be wary of actually using this cinnamon flavor inside the tank itself however. It is known to eat some kinds of plastic, or at least turn it from clear to cloudy/white. Keep AC away from clearish plastic e-cig stuff.

If you got a bad map tank from COV then I suggest you PM bigbuyer and tell him about it. Here is his profile page View Profile: Bigbuyer - E-Cigarette Forum You will need to have at least 5 posts to be able to PM but that shouldn't take long since you already have 3. He is the owner of COV and he will fix you up. I had a leaky map tank and got nowhere with email so I PM'd him and he had a new map tank in the mail the next day. Give him a try.

JSYK - You call that wire the "Atomizer Wire" and the yarn like thing that it is wrapped around is called the "Wick". And the generic term for both of them is the "Atomizer"

About the Last thing I would do is put Atomic Cinnacide on an Atomizer. Unless you want All your juice to taste like Cinnamon.

I would try soaking the atomizer in PGA, Vodka or White Vinegar to dissolve the “gunk” on the wick. Then rinses it out with hot water.

Appreciate the comments you guys, I know my stuff's very basic but I'll get better eventually :)

I'll try to PM the guy but as a business owner myself, I'd say you should keep a good eye on your email and not rely on a phone call as your only way to provide support. I have to talk over the phone all day and I hate it, so when I'm on the customer side I try to avoid it at all costs, that's why I like email, I can shoot a question and you can answer me as soon as you have a chance, but I always expect at least a decent turnaround time on that.

About flavor .... I still don't know what's that coming from an ego-t and now just after a few puffs I don't get anything strong or defined with this cartos. Hopefully the liquinator with slotted cartos can help that.

What do you guys have to say about the bottom of the tank and the carto connection not fitting tight enough allowing them to separate sometimes causing a mess of juice? I know it makes no sense to glue that, but an O-ring? Teflon tape?

Thanks in advance for your support

Actually if it is 100% PG as directed above, it vapes out of a CE2 when dripped as described really quickly. Soaking it in stuff requires you to pull it out of the tank, or at least drain the thing. A great method, but less of a preventative thing, and more of an operation. A great idea if you rotate CE2 engines...and clean some while you use others :)

Here's a pic showing the broken carto I got from Clouds of vapor and used to show where I'm getting this gunk buildup.
Just in case I messed up my explanation since I can barely handle the lingo :)

Awesome, thanks for the help !

Wife is picking up the package with the Liquinator right now, so I'll be trying it tonight.

I don't think I'll try to contact COV, I've tried enough times and if they don't care or are to busy selling is their problem, seems like there's plenty of reliable sellers looking to earn our business here so I'm willing to give them a try.

Bruce has always been GREAT at standing by the stuff from his store. Could be your emails are getting filtered or something? Don't give up...seriously, maybe he's on summer Vacation or something. He'll take good care of you.

I got a card here from COV showing a phone number. PM me if you need it.

Credo, I appreciate the help, and I want to insist that I'm not saying they ARE a bad vendor, but my experience hasn't been good and, as you said, maybe a call is all that's needed but if email is one of the ways available to communicate with them they should pay attention or stated everything should be called in. I do have a business and I use phone and email, if one day I decide to ignore one of them I'll be broke not longer after that.

AND ........... I using the liquinator and what a difference with these cartos compared with the CE2s, I can taste the juice I'm vaping, which is a first for me :)

Will be getting a REO eventually but as long as I can learn my way around this one to don't separate the tank accidentally causing a big juice mess the more advanced mods can wait.

Let me thank y'all for the suggestions

Well .... was checking on clouds of vapor about my support ticket, yeah I submitted one, and it shows as CLOSED , so go figure

Could just be a glitch.

I've never dealt with COV myself. But I haven't read that many bad things about them either. Shoot them of an e-Mail from their web site "contact us" and explain your having problems.

I agree. When I told him I wasn't getting any response from email or the ticket I filled out, he told me he was in the process of moving from one state to another. I guess he was pretty busy. Anyway, those map tanks aren't cheap but it's up to you.
