Skelley I'm still getting some dry hits after successive drags, but its less. If I suck once or twice first, it doesn't happen. That's fine for now but not going to be fun long term. I'll figure it out one way or another.

I should fill up a third with high PG juice and see if it makes a difference

EDIT: But I do have to say, the flavor is out of this world, and the vape is on par with a fluxo all else being equal, maybe even more (?!). And yet still more cool and balanced, which will make charlz happy :)

Charlz you were smart to hold out, because even if they were perfect the 808s are coming I believe. The 3ml 'tank' would look smoking on an echo

I just got the Stainless Steel wick going in a stardust, this stuff is phenomenal. You can hear it gurgling and sucking up the juice, no leaks, most pure flavor I've gotten to date from a stardust (could be a fluke, maybe I'm optimally spaced from the silicon)

Either way the wicking is very impressive and all I taste is juice. Started with 100% VG, all i tasted was VG.

Its even more impressive in that the wick is kind of thin and 'kinked' not round and pretty as the experienced SSers make, and its still ripping. Even with the odious stardust plugs and mouthpiece I've yet to get a leak, and the wick is thin enough that the plugs can't reach it to pinch, even though they're not even pressed to the bottom of the metal. Pretty cool!

I'm on fill up #5 and no issues so far, but these are MiT's CE3's.
I'm not sure who made the Phoenix for gotvapes, but I thought it was MiT (Microcig).

I'm waiting for AvidVaper's atomizer tank, but they are still working the bugs out of the prototype atm, but it should be out soon.

The wick is tiny, but I was pleased to notice that 2/2 they were both perfectly fluffed and filling the slot.

Someone in the gotvapes thread just said they were pretty much identical except for narrower wick slots on the GV version

There is a mod I found where the guy filed down the base of the post to widen the wick slots, its tempting, not sure I'm ready to go there yet though. Gotta get this working!

I'm thinking of going to this direction based on my crumbling wick episode - and one of your participated thread about silica/nylon/ss wick.

Where did you get the SS mesh (I assume you created with mesh)?

from ebay

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I would recommend running to michaels and getting the 100% white cotton yarn, its 2.99 for a lifetime supply. Its the sugar and cream (unscented). Also works like dynamite. The thing I've noticed with cotton is it really sucks up juice well and expands. So a straight piece of that yarn should work perfectly for you, or if anything, pulling a strand out to thin it a bit. My first fill with the cotton wicks is always amazing, and then it starts to 'over expand' if that makes sense, and there is just too much juice going to the coil. No leaking or anything, just a gurgley flood that doesn't let the atomizer get hot enough.

This is with fluxos. With the stardusts it seems to work better at any thickness. Still can't draw conclusions, need to tweak more. But at the price and convenience its a great thing to have on hand. If you can get the right thickness of wick for your juice its superior to the silica, wicks just as good, probably tastes better, probably better for you, and doesn't disintegrate with handling

Mod it Voltron.
I personally like to remove both seals; use a dental pick to gently lift and seperate (fluff) the wicks; trim the inner lip off the small seal; install small seal outer lip down (this helps keep the ceramic cup centered) and install the large one. I like having the small void as any condensation can collect there and flow back onto the coil rather than stick to the bottom of the drip tip and eventually get sucked up.
Total mod time, less than 5 min. I've done it so many times, I can do it in seconds...lol.

Thanks for the suggestion skelley, but it kinda sounds a little too complicated for me
I bet you guys rarely take your cars to the mechanic, and do the work yourselves. I, on the other hand, have zero mechanical skills or ability, so what you wrote might as well have been in Chinese ;)
Can you please break down step one a little for me? I'm confused about how one removes the seals. Heck, I'm not even sure where they're located or what they look like  And the ceramic cup you mention, I don't have a clue what it is

Voltron I think skelley was referring to his favorite mod for the previous release of fluxomizers, they had three plugs, all different

do you have any standard kr808 (halo, bloog, SI) mouthpieces? Or any carto mouthpieces that are standard size? You can take a slice of the lower side, lets say one third, and use that as a flat plug for the fluxo. Just push it down and it will hug tight over the cup.

This may result in a tight draw, because the mouthpiece has a narrower internal diameter than the plug skelley is referring to. Thought it may work perfectly. If it doesn't you can always figure out a way to chew out the center a little bit and make it wider.

If you use a drip tip, you'll probably want this slice to be on the thinner side so the drip tip fits. Hopefully you have something sharper and cleaner to cut with than the knife below :)

This is the plug skelley was referring to (one of them, all you need IMO)

The goal is to have something that fits flat and flush on the cup like this:

So take a slice of a carto mouthpiece:

shove it down (the mouthpiece in this pic is not sliced, i'm running low :) ). use a pencil or something similiar. Just get it flat on the cup, don't invade the wick slots, just kiss the top of them as in the two pics above (2 and 4) (refer to the photo of the black plug flush on the cup)

That should handle your issues.

Note, the wicks in my pick are NOT fluffed, and you don't want your wicks to look like that (that's a fresh one). You want to gently pull them up (gentle, don't use anything sharp) so they cover the wick slot entirely. The coil will be below the wicks, it will look kind of funny. For a better image see the video in that link.
