They need tinkering. If one has a dry burnt taste (if these are CE2 Clearomizers) you have to remove the seals and cut the notches on the inner seals edge a smidge bigger (not too much or it will leak). I think those can strangle the wick. Caveat - I never used them with all the stories of cracking and falling apart. There should be Youtube videos about cleaning them. I know I saw one dry burn video for cleaning (you would need a manual battery or manual PT). There are replacement tubes sold at Clouds of Vapor I think and maybe Gotvapes or madvapes?

What I bought but have not tried are the CE3 aka Smokymizer aka Deluxe Fluxomizer at Gotvapes. These have new non-cracking cloudy tubing but I hear they can still leak.

Thanks dormouse ! Like I said so far I am enjoying them but taking them apart to clean is a real pain . I have only had one fall apart and leak . I'm really liking them but again vaping is so not a one size fits all. I also really like dripping but when driving etc that's obviously not such a safe idea. I may have to look into the product you mentioned !

I've been using CE2 Clearomizers since the beginning of the year. This is what I do to clean mine:

- remove all seals from the top of the Clearo.
- with the clearomizer screwed into a battery remove the tube by pulling upwards.
- rinse the wicks in distilled water and pat with a paper towel to dry
- dry burn the coil by activating the battery for 5 seconds followed by a 5-10 second cooldown. Repeat until the coil is clean and there is little or no smoke coming from the coil.
- wash off the ash from the coil by squirting some distilled water from a syringe into the coil.
- dry the wick with paper towel
- reattach the tube and seals.

I clean mine every 3-4 days and they last for several weeks. The biggest problems I have with them are tubes cracking and poor wicking out of the box. The tubes that come on the DeLuxe Fluxomizers from GotVapes have fixed the cracking. In over as month of using them they have not cracked or leaked. Wicking can be improved by removing and/or moding the seals. I only use the middle seal from the Fluxomizer XL and have no issue with wicking.

The CE3/Smokimizers are a bottom coil design. The CE2/Clearomizer/Fluxomizer/Fluxomizer Deluxe are a top coil carto. They provide different vaping experiences.

ce2's is to much TH for me, its not even a comfortable throat hit, the vapor is to hot cause its at the top, i think mine are dual coil too

The is the resistance on the CE2's and what voltage are you vaping? I use the 2.4-2.6 ohm CE2's at 3.7 volts and it perfect for me. You can try lowering the voltage or geting CE2's with higher resistance to get less TH and cooler vapor.

Crud , totally wicked has a big Ole warning up about them so now I'm nervous to try them ??...Hmmm..
Could someone tell me where this big Ole warning about the clearomizers are on the Totally Wicked site? And what is concerns?
I'm sorry...must be getting blind in my old age (and from smoking too many analogs over the years), but I don't see a warning anywhere.
The reason I ask, is I just bought some "Ce2 Edition 2 Ceramic Clearomizers XL" from another site.
Just received them a couple of days ago, and and I've only filled one so far..I actually love the thing, and I've heard about the leaking problems, but this is supposedly fixed with this "Edition 2".
And (so far, at least), I haven't had any problems at all and have been through two fillings.

Is that what the warning is about? The cracking and leaking?
Thanks

The warning is because they are prone to cracking. It's just a failing of the material used for the tubes and the fact that it's press-fitted onto the connector. Because of this, TW has discounted their remaining stock of these, which is great for me because I love them ;-) I've bought several packs and on average have found 1 in 5 clearos to crack on me after the first fill (even less are cracked right from the get-go), but most of them last me a long long time. Once those are gone, they should be getting in the "ultimate edition" version with a nearly crack-proof tube. They already have those in the regular size, I bought them to check out and look forward to the XL Ultimates

FWIW, I've bought XL clearos from a handful of different vendors and all of them have required a little tinkering to get to work at their best, but some vendors' clearos I haven't had any luck with at all so I've stuck with the two that have worked the best for me with the least effort needed on my part: MyVaporStore and Totally-Wicked. I don't know why I've found them to be so different from one vendor to another, but that's been my experience. YMMV

Ah..ok Killjoy1.
I appreciate the info! :)
I'm still new at this and wanted to try some Clearomizers, so I bought them the first place I could find them. (At the time, it seemed not many people carried them, but I see now that a lot of people do). I bought mine at a place called "Awesome Vapor".
Anyway, so far the one and only Clearo I've used is great, and no problems...guess I'll see what happens with the rest of them down the road. Heh..after what I've spent on e-cigs and supplies, these are just a drop in the bucket, so if they don't work out, no biggie.
Hehe...thanks again. ;)

Ah, that's a totally different issue, though (I've been on their forum for quite a while). It appears that with the CE3's, the insulation in the connector is prone to wearing out or breaking, causing a short. I haven't had this problem yet, myself.
I thought there used to be a warning about the cracking on the clearos, they must have removed it, but the cracking issue is the reason the XL clearos are discounted 40% ;-)

The ultimate edition ones are great and I look forward to the XL version which should be coming after they've sold off their remaining XL stock. The ultimates aren't at all prone to cracking, they're the same plastic as the CE3's, and the silicone gasket over the coil cup appears to have been further modified for that revision. I still have to cut the slots deeper since my juices are a little thick and I tend to vape the heck outta my clearos, but the pack of those that I bought did wick okay with no modification, better than they did before, anyway.
Honestly, the only reason I don't use those more is because of the amount that I vape. The capacity of the regular sized clearos is just too small to be practical for me (I can vape one of those from full to dry just on my commute to work), which is why I prefer the XL size. I don't mind having to tinker with them before first use and I have a bunch of syringe tubes already cut for when they eventually do crack, so I've taken heavy advantage of the current discount on them

This is probably somewhat off topic, but does anyone know the ID of the clearomizer tube and possibly a good source? I know I could do the syringe mod, but just curious about the tube size. And what would be the best material to use to prevent degradation from the juice?
Thanks for your help........
