In less than two weeks we're heading to Puerto Vallarta (yay!). I've been reading all the posts on this subforum, and I think I've got things pretty well figured out. I hope. I plan to bring all my batteries in my carry-on (turned off), and I'll have a filled carto for travel. I'll pack all juices in a ziplock bag in my checked luggage. Here's my question... I pretty much exclusively use clearos for my regular vaping. If they are in my checked luggage, will they leak out all the juice in the less-pressurized luggage hold? Other than double bagging them, is there anything else I should do? I would prefer not to have to empty them all out, if it isn't necessary. But I would also prefer not to pull a sticky bag of goo out of my luggage. Anyone have any experience with this?

I was planning on having a 750 eGo w/ a shorty carto in a glasses case for use during the travel day, and then two 1000 batteries and maybe an extra carto in an eGo case. I figured it would probably be easier to carry cartos than clearos, since there is no free liquid for TSA to worry about.
I had to take other liquids anyway (insect repellent, toothpaste, etc) so I moved my juices into bottles that were clearly labeled as to content (even if what I put in there didn't match exactly) and put them in my 1-qt "liquid or gel" bag with everything else (shampoo etc)
The toxic things had inner bags to keep them out of my toothpaste.

If I didn't need the e-juice or insect repellent, I'd have considered buying the other stuff on arrival, but as long as I was taking liquids through security anyway, I figured better to keep them in the pressurized cabin with me and also not gone if my luggage follows me 3 days later.

But I was not going anywhere that nic liquid is banned, I went San Jose to L.A., then Heathrow, then Johannesburg.

One thing: do not vape in line at the security check, at least not at Heathrow, someone will see the vapor and confiscate it because you can't smoke in airports. I got away with stealth vaping, but someone who was vaping openly while they searched her luggage at Heathrow lost hers. I was in the same line, but had put my pv in my purse along with my watch, phone, rings, etc back when I was still only halfway through the line so I was OK.

O' course, that was not TSA.

Might not apply to all aircraft but:

The cargo Hold on all Boeing aircraft is the same pressure as the passenger cabin.

Typically, the cabin floor is not designed as a pressure bulkhead.

Remember to use the restroom if you feel a 'leak' coming on :)

Thanks, Rocketman! This time, that actually IS helpful! :)

Package all filled cartos and liquids in leak proof bags.
Even in your carry on. In-flight air pressure in the passenger cabin will be less than when on the ground (ear popping).
Anything can leak when the external pressure goes down. Clearos sometimes even leak on their own :)
Don't let the dog eat the clearos :)
