well, my celeb ain't responding....Better go polish up on my interviewing skills..

Still love ya, doc...

:D:D So sorry bud..was very busy today..had a Trackday sessions on the racebike..today is my day to ride my bike out flat..I love the speed...

About your earlier questions...njoy do supply us with 2 model type..the penstyle and their mini.....only the penstyle gave me lots of trouble but I manage to repair them and already found their power supply problem...I have built a totally new power source for the penstyle( will post it later after full setup ready..all I can say it is a real smoker and the quality of the "smoke" mimics the real analog cigarettes to the core..harsh and powerful:evil:)

The warranty we gave to our patients is One full year with an additional plus with free upgrades and extended warranty if patients requires so....and to cut cost , I repaired what I can for my patients and do constant experiments and whatnot's....I am still promoting it as the way I planned it...discreet and quiet but invasive....something akin to a surgical precision strike....after the warning I have gone deeper ...just can't elaborate here for you but time will allows this next time...

You ask why put myself at risk?....why not?.....If I am not a medical doctor (or just a regular Asian Joe who smokes) i won't even dare but since I am a doctor and I smoke too..why not?....I put myself as a test subject and once I find it meaningful and does help, I will rope in others smokers to get a full tally ...the Trials begins....and the Battle starts......I have to put myself into a smokers situation to understand the need and the want's and won'ts....then you'll get the full picture.....that a true medical treatment....be with your patients and feel their joy and their frustrations.....a true adventure in my own words....

I hope I answered your questions Fedor...I don't mind answering your neverending questions..just sometime I am not free yet...I did not even visited my Dutch Forum for quite sometime now:oops: where they actually set up a corner for me in the Dutch Forum to help and assist them..very nice of the Dutch people especially my "adopted " Big Sis Katink, they been very helpful to gave me data and feedback..anyway, even this forum has help me a lot to gain knowledge and insights....I have a lot of thanking to do to all of you who help and post interesting queries...I will do my best to help...Just one more thing ,I AM NOT A CELEBRITY..hehehe.;)...I am just a regular GP who happens to smoke and loves new gadgets and Mad with Motorcycles....:D:rolleyes:

Thanks for the reply, doc. I'm always interested with all issues related to marketing as I vet business startup proposals and dissertations on a regular basis. I don't consider myself an expert but i wish to constantly upgrade myself and to keep abreast with latest developments. Its not everyday that a new product gets invented and successfully commercialised. The e-cigarette will be a good marketing case study one day. In fact, your case so far would already be considered good material....I might wanna write a case study on it, with your permission of course. But then again, I'm not exactly someone who follows thru their new year resolutions...LOL

About the penstyle, I've read many issues regarding atomisers and even battery problems. I personally have the same problem with atomisers for both pen style and mini. Don't you? Not so much batteries. Its the first time I'm hearing power supply problems. What is it exactly? Am I interpreting it wrongly?

I'm assuming that you provide your patients with the lowest cost possible. With a full year and extended warranty, how do you cope with cost? Lets not even get started with the "additional freebies" that you provide them, not that i know what they are. You could "absorb" some of the costs if you sell at low quantities but what happens when you have sold hundreds or thousands of units? Or have you? Do you also provide the same for customers of your "boys and girls"? I can only imagine the time and effort that you put into this. My most sincere admiration, dear good doctor...

You mentioned going deeper after a warning...Was there a warning given? By who? And going deeper sounds like some sort of espionage going on...LOL. A doctor going covert spy on the government...Good script for a movie..And you say you are not a celebrity. Even Mr Pat was asking for your autograph!

Show us some of your bike racing pics. Would be super cool....Also, after you mentioned your previous roadshows, I read your thread about it on the forums and it seems that you have not posted any videos or pictures. Its still not too late...LOL.

I truly enjoy this and hope you don't find me bothersome. If i brush up my intervewing and writing skills, I might just gather enough courage to bid myself an e-cig columnist job at my local paper. That is, once this gets worldwide approval...:thumb:

Hi fedor...you have my permission to do the case study for e-cig..go ahead and see whether it helps or not...

About those atomiser problems...the intensity of the vapors and nicotine hits rely some what onto the power delivered..you do realise a clean new virgin atomiser tends to give the best hits along with newly charged batteries..as time goes by , the atomiser tends to dull and so does the battery as Li-Ion tends to drop their power load as it ages..so if we can up the power ratio delivered to an aged atomiser (like those USB type..which also somewhat fails)..it can actually sharpens the intensity produced..I have tried it with a very simple connection to a strong handphone battery..works wonderfully well for a 6 months old supposedly "dead" atomiser..power hits on every draw...and works exceptionally with with drip/dry smoking method...I hope that answers your power delivery question....

My patients shares the cost with me..in a sense that a consent and a sort of agreement reached before starting the treatment to bear and support the ongoing cost of the devices and the liquids...I will repair or replaced whatever spoilt or malfunction units with a supply(constant) of liquids/refills as well..yes that way we can limit the cost to as low levels as possible....the full year warranty does gave an assurance and a confidence to my patients as well as supportive as possible..But I don't actually "trade " my devices...I am just the medical side of it , the real person behind the trade part is my patient who will be dealing out with the importing and marketing..I teach my people whats going on and what to tell the public/consumers......and indirectly relay my methods to the masses....effective enough with the occasional hiccups but good enough(at the moment)...yes, we have sold Thousands of units already and it is getting higher....but I don't own those business...well, some of the money does come back to me but that will just to fund the ongoing project/trial....

Sorry about the spy like story..no intention to be that way but the warning that I got was from my MOH..to early for me to elaborate further...just on the cautious side( worried about legality issues..)

One day I will post some pics of my Race activities but not suitable in this forum...might post it at the general area..BTW do you Ride???

I too like your questions/interview..hahaha...:)...you should be like Tropical Bob....(respect a lot that Big Bro:thumb:)....hope I answered all your queries.....;)

My apologies, doc...

I had a rough week. Barely had time to sleep. The things i do to pay my bills...

Your power supply issue with the atomiser is new to me and i'm glad i picked that piece of info. I have no comments though as i'm somewhat a technical idiot when it comes to these kinda stuff...Hope you can teach me more so that i can appear like an expert among my friends LOL...

About the case study, I would love to do it. Probably even try to get it published but knowing myself, would probably procrastinate till no one is interested no more. However, i'd still like to attempt but i'm afraid it would mean that i'm gonna need lotsa info from you, doc and it might be quite an inconvenience.

Firstly, i'd need a chronological order of all the events leading up till today. Then I'd need sales reports (which could be private and difficult to compile), mode of distribution, promotions done and pricing and costing information. You know, the basic 4Ps of marketing that we've all been drilled to death...And I'd probably still need more info on top of that.

With your schedule, it'd be really unfair to ask you to do this for me. So i understand if you are starting to think that this is a bad idea. But i'll do my best if you are willing to work with me on this.

Wow...thousands of units..If this picks up further, profits would overshadow your clinic. Good job.

The MOH sucks...thats the most mature description I have for them. What are they warning you about if they won't even let u state your case?

I'd love to see those pictures and also possibly the roadshow ones. I don't ride though. Don't even have a license.

Take your time to reply, doc. Have a great day!

Me too Bud...rough tiring day....many people to attend too...lots of trauma cases today...and I have to go out in the rain to deliver some e-liquids to my other doctors friends...and then some...I will try to give some input later..hope you don't mind PM me your email...I will do my best to comply....busy days ahead because of my new creation...field testing and all ,you know.....lawyers breathing down my neck for patents application and MOH digging my back for answers..well, that's a good life..hehehe:p....what is life without a challenge huh?.... :D
Cheers bud, you take care too.....:thumb:

Dr Loi,

I have great admiration for your tenacity and dedication.
I was curious, when you administer the e-liquid to your patients, at what concentrations does the nicotine come in? Do you do multiple formulations with different concentrations?
If so, what concentrations do you make in mg of nicotine/ml of fluid, and which formulation is the most popular? I am just curious because i have a theory that e-liquid in concentrations of 30+ mg/ml (i've seen up to 36 mg/ml sold in the united states) could be more addictive than cigarettes. This method of ingestion (vaporization) seems much more efficient in absorbing nicotine into the blood stream than traditional smoking, also.

Anxiously awaiting your commentary.

Hi Zach..sorry for the late reply....just got back from the hospital...
Yes, I have different levels of Nicotine ...I group the usage according to need and during followup...depending on the physical need and psychological need, varied doses applied to different people...Old and elderly patients tends to developed palpitations with a dose of 24mg/ml above..so tread carefully there..younger patients tends to stay stable with that dose..and occasionally I do use strength up to 32mg or 36mg/ml for some very nicotine dependant cases...but sooner or later the dose will need to be tapered down...that will be done by monitoring their liquids usage as per time goes by....too drastic of a drop in strength can be bad for some dependants..so need to watch the strength...So if you really need to know my variables..there will be at least 12 strengths I have....the highest being 36mg and the lowest being 0 .....

I think Higher dose like 36mg does not really cause addictiveness, in fact I think cigarette addiction is all plausible depending on one person emotional status...the higher the stress ,the more you smoke..same thing observed here in E-smokers and when it hits a certain level of tolerance, you will end up chain smoking to get the "second" high...many of us tends to do that when we hit the low end of emotions and we dig deep within ourselves to comfort and seek solace...some go to the church/religion to relief these, some will seek alcohol solace and most will end up smoking...and some do drugs....

well, my theory is open for questioning...it is up to all who read this to decide....true or not..?;)....I deal it as a psychological phenomenon....I hope it does answer your question,Zach....:)

I dont think your far off the mark with that theory jimldk. in fact, there was some research carried out at an irish college recently that pretty much said the same thing:

Smokers use cigarettes to cope with distress, conference hears - The Irish Times - Mon, Nov 24, 2008

I meant to ask you too if you had time and don't worry about it if you don't but have you ever heard of Ibogaine? It is a naturally-occurring psychoactive and is supposed to be able to treat and reverse addictions to a wide range of substances including nicotine.

Hope your father is doing better.
