I swore when I had grandkids I would be fluffy! One of my grandmothers was extremely thin and I remember that she felt boney when she hugged me! My other grandma was "pleasantly plump" and she had room enough for more than one grandkids at a time on her lap! She always felt so comfy! I loved them both with all my heart but huggable and comfy was great!

That reminds me of the time our DD and her family had to spend three days with us due to power failure the first winter they had his kids. Benji, the oldest boy latched on to me and stayed right with me the whole time and would pat my belly  Soft!

Gimme dat coffee! I need it bad!.......It's raining!.........Is that a bit of chocolate beside the cup, Dale? Chocolate is suppose to be a "mood lifter upper". I do believe I could use some of that too. Already feel better just thinking about the two. :)

Ooo hope there is a piece left! Looks delish dale [emoji4]

Chooch and chili, I got to thinking. My neighbor had to have been near seventy when she made that nativity set. My other set was given to me from a dear friend about 30 years ago. Still store it all in the original styrofoam boxes and as of yet none of the pieces have broken [emoji4]

Hope everyone stays reasonably dry today. I think we have more rain. Imagine that... [emoji15]

Hope our snowed in peeps such as kayte an doug have been able to dig out.

Y'all have a great day! [emoji4]

Everything looks yummy! I just got home from a doctor visit and had to go without food and drink for 12 hours! I hit the coffee pot with a vengeance just now! At least I was smart enough to make an 8 am appointment!
It's finally dry and some what sunny today! Looking forward to a great day!

Gad, Kayte. :( You get hit with Goliath and "David" is down for the count. Ugh. Be careful you don't catch what Doug has. Neither of you need to be out in that stuff. Can't you wait until it melts?....You know I'm sitting here with windows opened and fans going.
So far so good on not coming down with his virus. Whew! He's doing okay. Up and keeping fires going and working in the shop a bit. :) We got about 20" of snow so no, can't just wait for it to melt. It's been really cold (think our high yesterday was 27) so it's not melting much. If we don't get it off the driveway pretty fast, it's just a thick layer of ice and we won't get out until Spring.
I got about a 1/4 of it shoveled and then my son in law and grandsons showed up with a snowblower and took care of the rest of it for me. What a relief! Thought I was gonna die.
Seems like Doug has been sick a lot lately :(
Hope he feels better soon!

At dad's and my laptop is not working right ... stuck with this kindle until I can get it goingo_O
I don't think he's been sick much. He's just had rough days with the weather. He's had weather pressure change problems ever since he had a hernia surgery years ago. Highs and Lows can really put him in pain. And then there's his back/sciatica. Poor guy. Mostly he just keeps moving though. :)

Hope you got your laptop working! Is your dad feeling better? Did he make it for Christmas?
Morning, Mountain folk! :) Think I see a little ray of sunshine today and it's cooled off to the 60's. Relief for only one day though and we start all over again. Kayte, at least we don't have to shovel anything. I do hope you haven't lost power and you and Doug are snug and warm.
The power never went out. YAY! And yep... wood stoves have been cranking out the heat. We're warm. Glad you got some sunshine and cooler air. El Nino certainly is making things interesting this year, eh?

Only in Texas! Morning everyone! I hope all of you are staying safe and warm!
Such crazy weather! Especially the tornadoes at this time of year. Feel so bad for all those affected. Do you live in the areas hit by all of this?
I watch a video yesterday about a guy that lost everything, but as they were digging through the mess, they found his little dog, who had been trapped.

Did you hear about that couple down by Clovis that were trapped in their car when it went off the road and they were buried in a 12ft snow drift? Took them 20 hours to find them! ACK! But they're fine.
Oh wow chili- crazy TX weather huh?! [emoji15] Hope things calm down. Ours has been weird as well. I think that winter is going to peek in this weekend.

Black is a great choice chooch [emoji4] Any tip will work[emoji2] That hubbs of yours is a catch for getting that. Mine just rolls his eyes at my gear and says, how many do you have? [emoji12] Lol I try to explain that its also my hobby lol

Got my Christmas decorations down today. Didnt take too long since I didn't put up the tree this year. My grandmaw always said its bad luck to leave it up into the New Year for some reason. Lol Nativity scenes are exempt tho. I went ahead and packed both of them up as well since I was on a roll [emoji6] One set was a new addition. Our elderly neighbor whom was very special to us passed away earlier in the year and her family did an estate sale a few weeks ago. I spotted her charming white ceramic Nativity set and snagged it since it was such a personal thing. Didnt realize just how special it was until I was looking it over later on. On the bottom of each piece were her initials and the year '93. She had made the set herself! Made it that much more special [emoji6]

Hope everyone stays warm and dry and TTYL [emoji4]

What a treasure! So glad you spotted it mommabird!

My Christmas stuff is still up, but am thinking about taking it down today or tomorrow. Part of a string of lights died, so now it bugs me. :sneaky: I usually leave it all up well into January. I love the lights and they seem to make January a little nicer to deal with.
Hey Chilicat :)

Wonder if Doug has been well enough to get out to the shop this week? :?: Guess we'll find out here in a little while ;)
He's been out there, but still working on special orders. I think he's just finishing one of those today and the rest will be for the website tomorrow evening.

 Kids! (I loved my grandmother's soft arms. :D Her lap was pretty good, too.)

Hope your results come back good! 8am is very smart indeed!

We were able to get the car out yesterday and the roads are mostly okay now. Kinda skinny (just the width of a snow plow) but clear. I'm hoping they won't come by here again to widen it. If they do, it'll put a wall of ice up across the top of the driveway. That just might make me cry. o_O
We used to have wonderful snow plow guys... they get the road done and then come back and clear the top of all the driveways. Not anymore. Maybe I should go be a plow driver. I'd be a nice one.

Hope you're all having a nice day! Mine would be nicer if I didn't have to cook dinner.

Poor Doug,
wonder if you guys need to move out of those mountains to a warmer climate?

No joy on the laptop, whatever that update was removed all my passwords and stuff ... couldn't get into anything at all :grr: Not taking it to dad's anymore, every time I do this happens o_O

Dad did make it for Christmas but he's not doing real well, he's in the process of having a lot of skin cancer removed and is constantly being cut on :(

Hope you don't wind up with an ice wall at the end of your drive!

Yay-y-y-y, on SIL and grandsons! So good to have extra he-guys around to be he-roes. Ha! :)

Kayte, you would be a "nice person" in whatever you decided to do. Could be that the county boss told those snow plow guys to not spend any extra time on the "frills". Might be stretched for employees to do the job or $ to pay them for the time.

Yep, it's hard taking down something so cheery as twinkling lights when it so cold, dark and dreary outside. :(

I so admire people like Doug who just "soldier on" through their pain having never had much through my own life. I think I would just crumble up and whine a lot. As it is, I have hubby kiss my paper cut to make it better! :)
