Zombies Castaways! Warning! Warning! Don't play! Highly addictive! Will take up all your waking and sleeping minutes! You will never be able to cook and clean for the rest of your life!

I'm going to have to check that one out! I like to have something to play on my Fire tablet while I'm waiting for doctors appointments. Lately I have been playing Flutter: Starlight. It has nice soothing music, pretty moths, and is really easy to start and stop whenever.

We can hear the coyote howls nightly from our back yard and sometimes even through the double pane windows it's so loud. We regularly see tons of squirrels, an occasional rabbit, some amazing hawks, fabulous hummingbirds and a zillion gopher holes. A small pet won't last long around here if left outside at night due to the coyotes. :( Too bad coyotes don't lust for gopher dinner --- hmm, maybe they do, and just come down the hill for change of diet. LOL

We tried a garden -- ha ha ha. The gophers ate all the asparagus and the roots of 2 citrus trees, 2 pear trees, another tree and I don't know how many other decorative and veggie plants. The squirrels ate the strawberries when they were just ripe enough for picking and still harvest our peaches from our tiny tree every year. We did manage to harvest some tomatoes that first year. They were very yummy, too.

We tried a couple tomatoes again this year, and a critter ate 80% of an entire plant one night! The other dear plant produced 3 tomatoes and a few that something 1/2 ate! I just hope it was the bunny, as they are rare (due to coyotes) and simply adorable.:)

And yes, I live in the city in a well developed area, a couple miles from a state park popular for hiking in the Santa Monica "Mountains".

I have taken to container gardening on my deck! That seems to be the only way I can stop the critters from eating everything. This year, I have eggplant, tomatoes, peppers and ground cherries. And one large pot of herbs.

Bad bad coyotes! We had always had cats that were indoor and outdoor cats and then we moved to McKinney! We were in a new housing development with fields and trees behind us and we could hear coyotes but never really thought about it! Unfortunately we lost our two cats to the coyotes.
Our cat now, Chilicat has never been allowed out of the house since then! I never knew they would come up to the houses but they did! Bad bad coyotes! :(

I really need to learn how to container garden! We have tried traditional gardening and the critters eat more than we do!

I use these things called Smart Pots, also called Dirt Bags. It's a spun poly bag with handles. I most often use 20 gallon size for vegetables. I put mine up on bricks so they don't ruin the deck. So far mine have lasted me four seasons and going strong. I use potting soil, and change out half for new soil every year. The old soil goes into the compost bin.

Edited to add it seems they've changed the name from Dirt Bags to Dirt Pots! Probably a good idea!

LOL We did put the tomatoes in huge pots this year and hubby pulled them in the house every night after the eating incident. We'll have to try a new approach.

We even rigged up some cages around a few peaches -- and the critters (squirrels) got all but one off. They REALLY like our peaches. All this was done with a fully ripened loaded nectarine tree not 10 feet away in the neighbors yard....which I did see them sample, after our tree was empty, of course.

It seems we are doomed to feed the critters of the city and buy at the local farmers market for fresh grown goodies. We have tried several solutions. Our only hope is a total cage....which we will probably do some day for a small area....and just might make another one to cover that darling little peach tree.

The Crushed Banksia, Chili, didn't it have sort of a more teal color? I seem to remember the bits and pieces in there had some interesting markings too. That tip would look right smart on black.

Bnrkwest, you need to find a gingham blouse to wear with your little cutie with lavender sparkles. This tip has that sweet look.

To me it is just a beautiful blue! Not really teal! It reminds me more of a dark turquoise that I have in some of my silver and turquoise jewelry! I am seriously thinking of looking at some mods with a wood look to go with it! I tried it on my black REO with the copper vein door and it looks very nice!

I just saw these today for the first time! Eleaf released three new mods right before the 8/8 deadline. The power nano does not use a replaceable battery but it looks cute! I love the wood and the brown color!
