I will always remember your birthday Dale! My youngest son turned 33 today! He gets to share his BD with you! Two very special people!
And now that I have caught up with four pages I want to say HI everyone! I sure miss getting on here like I could when school was out! But what wonderful news that Robin has been found and is now home! That news really has made my day!

G'morning, people of The Mountain. :)

First question of the morning that DH and I ask each other?......."How's the pillow?" So far nothing but good reports. We seem to be sleeping a bit longer and sounder. Remember we got "firm". Those who like to scrunch and form their pillows may want "medium." If one doesn't work, take back and get the other to try.

Going to have to start "raking" the back deck soon. Leaves are just beginning to fall, the acorn and hickory nuts are making a loud rat-a-tat poing! on the outside furniture and the squirrels are making a mess so's you can't walk barefoot out there. Ahead of myself though. The leaves won't turn their glorious colors until near the end of Oct.

Everyone stay "cool" and enjoy your day. :)

Good morning! (Yes... it's still morning. :pervy: )

Not until Oct. chooch? The wild currant bushes in my yard are starting to yellow. They're always the first and are a good month ahead of the rest, but they do signal the change is coming. :D By August I'm a little stir crazy and excited for cooler days. We've even had snow (just flurries) in Sept. Snow in Oct. is more common. If we get a decent snow in Oct., we know it's going to be a wet snowy winter. Never fails. No snow in Oct. and we have a dry winter. Us mountain folk have been using that method for decades. The professional weather people ought to try our way... that's actually accurate. ;)

Doug has been hauling downed trees out of the forest all summer. He and Watson go for a walk up the hill every morning and he lugs one down. He's managed to get about 3 cords... one small tree at a time. lol The rules around here are that you can't cut, and you can't go fill a truck, but you can walk and take out what you can carry. He's obviously a pretty proficient 'carrier'. :D (I still wish there was a magic knob on the wall that I could turn to make the house warm. )

Hope you all have a great day!

Even though I'm a side sleeper, I think medium would be best for me... love to scrunch... never liked firm pillows. :)

Kayte, the leaves do start turning in Oct. but not at the height of color until late in the month around our first freeze. I think somewhere farther up north of here they use "wooly worms" to forecast a hard winter or not, and our mountain folk seem to get it more right than the weatherman. Seems to me Doug is a dang good "totter" to schlepp in 3 cords of wood. Even "small wood" can be heavy and awkward........and "catch" on bushes on the way home. He must have the patience of Job and the "musckels" of Atlas!
