No, Jasen, some of our issues can be fixed, but we can't fix extra time! Actually, I'm glad we can't, because I'd probably be working even more! The knee, now, might pose an issue. We shall see. It's swollen, but I've put a wrap on it, 600 mg ibuprofen, and getting after it. If it doesn't go away, I'll definitely have it looked after before I'm unable to walk at all.

That's a good time to check it. o_O

Speaking of time!

Quick update on progress. Things are going slow but sure. Got all the blanks finished cutout over the weekend and a few tips, but also had other things needed tending. I am about halfway down the list getting the tips (and buttons) turned out. Had a few do overs...LOL...crap happens, especially dealing with fragile wood. Took dinner over and spent the afternoon/evening with my mom yesterday. She had her second chemo today, but has already shown signs of improvement just after the first one. Then worked on tips most of today. I am doing the late night thing since I work nights this weekend, so will probably get several more done tonight and finish up tomorrow including getting on the CA. Then comes the fun task of hand polishing each and every one of them. So might have to complete the finishing over the weekend and ship next week. We will see how the next few days goes.

I've already mentioned this a little while back (tip hiatus). Basically the next mod scrap wood package I get in will be it for a while. Not really sure how long, don't want to give any definite time tables since I have no idea how the next several months will play out. But I have committed to building internals, buttons and tips for 5 Gbibi (Nutcase...whatever you want to call them) on my next 7 day break. Then I have to work on my backstock of materials. Just don't have time to do all tips on a 7 day break and get any time with the mods (going back to shift work definitely didn't help me have more time for the vendor thing). If I don't get these mods out soon, it could be a huge loss for me. Not saying I am stopping tips, as I might have time for a one or two deal here and there as permitted (if I have the wood or someone sends it to me). But between all the different mods I have on hand, it comes to around 40 or more. Various people have been patiently waiting on some of them and I try to squeeze them in, but like Paul stated, we just can't fix time.

Hell, come August, there might not even be a vendor section (though most everyone here knows how to contact me). Not like I am hearing anything from ECF about us. And doubt any vendor here can come up with a million bucks for an FDA approval. So will this close in August, or will we at least have the two years?

So bottom line, backstock is my next priority or loose my .... on materials. As always, you guys have been great friends and supportive. Hopefully I can get this stuff knocked out and be back on track soon. But just don't see any other way of getting this done for now. Hopefully everyone understands the decision. In the meantime, I will have a lot of mods up for sale in the coming months if anyone is interested (PM or better yet email me).

Well, cool news. Anyone wanting to buy the best auto adjust BF 510 on the market (with the option of it being manual too), they are now for sale and only $5.99 for either the 12mm or 22mm. Hopefully someone will come along and post a link, since I cannot. And again, I don't sell them nor am I affiliated with the company in any way. Just passed on the initial design along with Gdeal so everyone would have access to them.

Running a bit behind, had a few things come up. But I am down to the last few tips to make. Thankfully the polishing is something I can do anywhere. So should be shipping this last batch next week. The folks in this batch are BobC, 4nic8, B2L, Nautilusfan, Treebeard, BiminiTwist, Bluesnake, Kas, Gigdujour and Kataphraktos. Sorry if I misspelled some names. Anyway, if there is anyone I missed, please let me know. Also, anyone wishing to send a check versus Goggle Wallet and not be delayed, PM and I'll get you the info. I already received checks from the two people who discussed this with me already....thank you.

Varitube is proud to introduce the Drunk_J & GDeal Bottom Feeding 510 Connector! The short story? We were brought together by a mutal aquaintance and started working together in February this year. These guys being master Squonkers and well known in the modding community had developed a high quality connector they wanted to bring to the masses at a reasonable price ... they just wanted to share their work so others could acquire them easily and at a fair price. Thats where we come in. After 4 long months of work we finally are able to offer the best Bottom Feeding 510 on the market!

Here's the specifics:

- Available in 2 sizes - 12mm & 22mm diameter landing pad
- Stainless construction including the center pin
- High Temp Insulators
- Durable O-ring seals
- 2 configurations provided ... comes assembled as a self-adjusting spring loaded center pin (with an extremely strong spring) but also included is an additional insulator and O-Ring set to convert it to manual adjustment for those mods with a hard non-flexible connection to the 510. Set it up to suit your needs!

Body and Insulator measure 14mm in length. Stainless hollow center pin adds to that another 10-12mm but should be short coupled to your bottle anyhow

Ultra low profile Smooth Top Landing Pad, self-adjusting spring loaded center pin, brass backer nut for solid and secure installation.

Made of Stainless, Brass, & High Temp insulating material this connector is the squonking 510 you have been looking for.
  • The spring carries no electrical load!
  • Made of Stainless with High Temp Insulator - rated for 450F degrees continuous service
  • Body threading - M10x0.5 - 10mm diameter ... about 3/8"
  • Ring Terminal for ground connection included
Get em while they're hot!

Jasen, what is the minimum size piece of wood you need to make drip tips. I have some stabilized wood left over from Vaughns mods I'd like drips tips made out of.

The main thing is that it is larger than the size drip tip you want, plus a little extra for chucking it up in the lathe. So like if you wanted a standard cylinder, 11x15mm, then I need at least 12mm square and 25mm long (but I have dealt with smaller on the length, just trickier). Naturally, I prefer much larger so I have room to be choosy on which section looks best.

Got it....I like the size I've already purchased in the past. I'm not sure of the measurements, but they were rather small diameter, some longer than others. I'll see what I have here.

If the pieces are too small, I have a 4"x4" inch block I'll send I was going to use for another mod, but more blocks are readily available.

Thanks!

I do want to mention something to everyone on these new 510s that are available. Due to keeping the design very different from another manufacturer, there are thread size differences. So the shell threading is finer and the 6-32 screw we were using is 3.5mm now. So if they were soldered on the original mod, then they will have to be soldered to the new. Just wanted to be upfront with folks who have a GDNA or Peko. So if it wasn't soldered, no problem, just add a 6mm ID x 1.6mm CS oring or a 1mm spacer to account for the 2mm flange recess for the old 510 versus the 1mm top flange thickness on the new 510 recess. Happy to answer any questions to help folks out.
