Yes and no. Ni200 is considered non-resistance wire and is used for leads in nr-r-nr wires like those used in the Ithaka RTA. If, however, ni200 is used for the entire coil the resistance is too low for most batteries to handle. The level TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) makes it ideal for temperature control. BUT temperature control is an extraordinarily misleading title... it should be called temperature protection. The device cuts power off before the resistance rises too much indicating a similar rise in temperature.Is nickel wire only for use with temperature control devices?
