Right behind you...
So what charger do U recommend ? I saw a nitcore single for $10.00 on E-bay.

The Nitecore UM10 and UM20 (dual) aren't bad chargers for the price, have a useful cable management system and the display is useful. But the fact that they use a micro USB connection is IMHO the best feature.

I picked up a UM20 from Amazon (I'm a Prime member) for $15 shipped and it does the job. The dual battery model seems to work best from a 2A USB wall charger since it can then give a full amp to each battery. But does also work from my desktop or laptop's USB 2.0/3.0 ports, and from an anemic 0.5A USB car charger, though obviously slower.

Just don't get too hung up on the pass-through charging of the UMxx. It really only charges one thing at a time, either the battery(ies) or the external target (phone, etc) via a "priority" switch, and won't charge the other until the first is full. But it is handy to use one wall charger or USB port on multiple devices once you're aware of the limitations, since it is a lot less cable hassle.

awesome, this makes my choice easy now :) just wish the battery wasn't such a PITA to get at. but it sounds like the charge port does a good job....

Ya, the battery compartment is a pain. Luckily it charges super fast. I also like how when you plug it in, a charging indicator comes up with a percentage. Just a nice touch I guess.

I'm torn between the um-10 and um 20.

I don't think I will need to charge 2 battery's at the same time, but having that feature for 4 bucks more isn't bad. I have a small charging station for cell phones and vape battery's so the room is limited. Man I hate decisions.
Get the two bay charger. Eventually you'll have more batteries and a one bay charger just won't cut it.

For what its worth, I have the Nitecore 4 bay unit and was similarly torn between the 2 bay & 4 bay. i'm really glad I went with more slots!! You'll always need to charge more than you think you need to!!

I did go with the 2 bay Nitecore. At this time I only have 2 battery's but surely that will change.

Never use the onboard USB for charging. eVic was the first to offer this feature and after many complaints of BRICKING the eVic I fould one common connection. ALL had been Port charging.
My two eVics are now over 2yrs. old and still working fine.
A decent dedicated charger is well with the price.

Port Chargers are like early cell phone cameras. An add on and an after thought. A Cheap accessory to satisfy a desire. Not worth the risk.

Same here, I use a separate charger for the batteries for a couple of reasons.
First was because the salesperson it's better not to use the usb port since the insides are made of plastic and if by any chance there's a short or overheat it could melt.
Secondly, my previous mod was a MVP version 1, and the usb port moved a bit, very little maybe just a couple of mm but it made it hard to slot in the charger. I managed to move it back but it's something to worry about. I read somewhere that this happened to another person on the MVP. It may not happen with the Cloupor but better to be safe than sorry.

I see the usb charger as a boon not a bane. especially with passthrough charging being available here. I have yet to experience a total failure. In my case I will be using a single 18650 inside and will just usb charge only. I do this daily with 2 cloupor dna rev 2 hana clones for 6 months straight now. If something were to go awry, the worst case scenario would be the board getting toasty.. Hopefully the warranty is legit, otherwise I will just drop an Evolv dna 40 inside and a better usb charge board, and call it a day.
