Could you have a clone maybe? I have heard there are clones out there.... plastic body...

Hi all im new to the form but I just got the cloupor t5 (well ive had 3 of them now). the first one stopped working before I left the store the second one started smoking the next day from the bottom of it and the third one did the same thing not even a week later. Has anyone else had this issue happen with it??

I have the T5 and not had a problem so far. I have used it for everything dripping 50w to nauti well way lower. I don't think mine is a clone since I have the official card it came with with a serial number of less than 5500. But, I have not used it exclusively. For the price compared to some of the other devices I have paid full price for it is awesomeness. I normally use it with the kayfun and mini. Once I get more use out of it I will follow up. But, so far no complaints. It has turned off itself before but, I am a clicker so all my devices do that for me if I get the shakes.

I have had a T5 for a several weeks now... I know the shut off is something that supposedly will be fixed in the firmware update on the 16th, but honestly it's never happened to mine. The ONLY time I've ever had it shut off on me is when I was running 50 watts on a dripper and the battery was very low (like 1% I think). When using lower watts like 15 for example even after reaching 0% it will just keep going and going, but when running very high wattages it will shut down when it gets to the end... which makes sense if you think about it... It can't get the voltage it needs from the battery so it just shuts down... In fact, if I recall I think it actually mentioned that in the book...

I'm not saying this shutdown issue is that, I'm sure it's doing it at times when the battery is charged, I'm just saying in my case that's the ONLY time I've ever had it shut down... I do recall reading a post somewhere where someone discovered that one of the screws on the bottom plate if it wasn't torqued pretty tight would result in it randomly shutting down... I dunno, I just know that for whatever reason I haven't personally experienced it...

In fact, the truth is, I haven't experienced any issues with it, and it's actually become one of my favorite mods and certainly my most used. I was very skeptical about the form factor... It looked ugly and it looked big... but considering the price I just couldn't help but try it... and honestly I'm glad I did... It's very comfortable in your hand and above all I have no logical explanation for it but it just seems to work BETTER... Like the power is somehow cleaner or ??? I dunno... I just know on a build I might only be able to run 20 watts on with other mods, I can probably push 25 or more with the T5... In fact, it was SO much different I thought maybe their regulation was way off, I actually set up a test rig and monitored it with a meter to ensure it was truly outputting the wattage it was set for... Once calculated out it turned out to be extremely accurate... So I really don't have an explanation...

Anyway, overall it's quickly become my favorite and most used... Despite it's rather odd form factor...

Wow it sounds like they are having some serious quality issues. Can you get a refund of your money? There are some other very nice regulated mods coming out you might want to try instead. Like the ipv3 150 watt. It has a full year warranty and will be getting future firmware upgrades that the owner can do at home. Take a look at its specs. This one can sub ohm down to .1. It had regular fire and touch fire. It has a adjustable 510 connection. I know they are available for pre order now from watts up vapor and will be shipping very soon. It has the sx 330 version 3 chip inside. It takes two 30 amp batteries like a vtc5. You might consider trying this because the coloupor is having so many issues right now. Just a option. I hope you get things figured out. The coloupor sounds dangerous right now if that many are having issues. Like I said, you might think of getting a different brand. I hope this is helpful.

As with any product, there may be a few bad units, but in your case, it may have been a bad production run. Just like rusirius, I have not had any issues with mine, and I love this thing.

Well, I have had ONE issue, and that was solved by myself. For me, I had the same issue of it powering off, but in my case, it was the screw to the right of the USB port (if you're looking at the bottom, and the USB port is toward the top of the battery plate). If this screw is not tightened all the way, the plate does not make contact and it will power off, or power off and on, off and on, etc. I wrote a post about it in another T5 thread. I think "Cloupor T5 battery" was the thread name, and the reply is on page 4.

Now in response to mgmrick, I too have had a similar thing happen with another VV/VW device. It was the Dovpo E-Mech. I loved that thing, but the first one I had went belly up. I plugged in the USB charger and the port broke off and rattled around inside. I had it replaced, and the second one had a display that was separating from the body, and then the USB port came lose and was about to break off as well. That's when I bought the T5 and placed the E-Mech on the shelf to just sit and look pretty. I have no doubt that these were random issues, but still, it can happen.
