I dont see the point for anything over 50 watts. Just my :2c:

Do you have a 50 watt APV by any chance? ;)

Not even 6 months ago, a lot of people on these boards were saying they see no reason to go above 15 watts.

It is what it is. People will always laud the bigger and 'better' devices. I have no issue with that at all. My vaping style is my own and I certainly won't be telling anyone else what levels of power I consider adequate*

Although 150W does seem, well, almost ostentatious.

*whatever, 150W is insane...

will people actually vape at that wattage???
I haven't done the math on my little ecg to figure the watts, but just a semi-educated guess without using paper would be my pen style runs at about 5 watts considering I have an 1100 mA battery, and assuming the coil is 2 ohms, and that I use the 3.2 volt setting. If I try the 3.7 or the 4.2 I do not at all enjoy the vape.
Is this some different kind of setup that I am not familiar with that requires that much wattage or is it like computer over-clocking? An enthusiast thing.

It seems crazy to me how fast these devices have gone from 15 watts to 150 watts, a ten fold increase in a very short time!
Battery tech will have to improve to keep up with these developments to get a decent run time with these crazy high wattages, otherwise devices will become bulky to fit cells with enough juice inside.

Although at this moment in time I cant see why anyone would require more power than this, even 150w seems like borderline insanity.

The thing you have to consider is this... Your pen style device probably has a clearomizer on it... Which means at best a mediocre coil and bad wick. Atty's like that just can't handle any power above 7 or 8 watts usually....

On the other hand, take my kayfun tank... Which I can build my own coils in... If I wrap a standard coil around silica I can get say 9 watts before I get any sort of "burnt" taste... On the other hand, wrap a micro coil with silica and that might go up to 11 watts... Ekowool instead (still silica, but wicks better) now maybe 13 watts... micro coil with cotton? Now I can push 20+ watts.... In the same respect, I can build my Atomic RDA with cotton or rayon and dual coils and push 60+ watts... Etc...etc...etc...

The point is, it all boils down to this... More watts = more heat.... More heat = more vapor... But in order to do so you have to have other factors right... You need enough airflow to keep the coils cooled down so they don't build up too much heat... You need wicking material (and build) to flow enough juice into the coil to keep it wet even when vaporizing massive amounts... Etc.... How high of a wattage you can run without "burning" is all dependent on your build...

actually yes, people do vape at 100+W consider a quad coil of 24ga, wrapped on a 3mm dia shaft which would result in 108W with 4.2V pulling 26A if you have a boxmod (mech type) holding twin 18650 VTC5's... thats 60-70A of available power. So with the quad coil setup described above, thats less than 50% of the capacity of the mod, which would be considered "safe"...

    Not true!
When you stack batteries, you double the available voltage, but the amperage available remains the same as with one battery.

The Cloupor T8 looks to be a OKR-T10 mod. This means that it is not a 4.2v mod like a mechanical. It's a 8.4v mod that can regulate the voltage down.
Personally I choose to never use mods that stack batteries.

you are correct about stacking batteries but dual battery boxers are paralleled batteries therefore 4.2V max at 2X the batteries A rating.... ( considering the batteries are identical)

yeah and the T8 can jump the voltage up to 14 volts. Sorry, late to the meeting once again. Personally, 100 is close to my max of enjoyable vape, but looking forward to seeing what the T8 and T6 can do. Was able to score 2 VTC5's, so am good to go, T minus 8 and counting, or something like that.

And yes, people do vape up into the triple digits, often, just prefer a casual 60-75 watt vape for me ADV's. Doing triple digi's require vaping in a reclined position, that way, not much falling distance:D
