Dom,

HAv you done a real good breakdown of the base. O had small metal fragments in my air chambers and around the base of the positive block. I took the whole thing apart and gave it an aggressive cleaning including running a pipe cleaner through the air channels. Put it back together and it worked great.

I just had an idea...

I noticed when cleaning up the table after building coils, it's sometimes a pain in the a$s to pick up small fragments of wire. They can be hard to see, and difficult to pick up off of a flat surface. The other day, while cleaning up, I tried using a magnet to pick up pieces of wire, and it worked really well. It was so much easier! I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to use a magnet to pull up any loose fragments of metal that are left behind from the manufacturing process? I'll still use a pipe clear to dislodge whatever might be stuck, and will follow by holding a magnet to it, to pull up the pieces. Just a thought, I guess it can't hurt to try.

I got my clt fixed and working awesome put dual 28 gauge micro coils in there at about .8ohms working like a dream now got the flavor and it's just plain a joy to use now not as good flavor as the magma but pretty damn tasty. I ordered the big block 454 today along with a mech mod and couple of other things can't wait to try her out. As far as the quality of my clt it's really shoddy so I'm probs going to order another as this one ain't going to make it long. Either way not bad for the price that's for sure. I'm thinking about the vulcan next for the flavor it looks like a really good rda.

I just had this exact problem with a magma clone.

Adjusted the center pin in order to make connection in hybrid mode, and ended up with a short, screwed it back in and viola solid 0.5 ohm!

I've concluded that its because the center pin in these units isnt adjustable. When their unscrewed they end up with uneven "jiggling" contact points, resulting in a short.

Keep them screwed in, or possibly find a longer compatible center pin replacement and problem solved

Just IMHO
