In the land of no hills and red dirt
Looking forward to getting this is in my hot little fevered hands. She'll get her own review, and will take place in my comparison with the cjb, mr puffer, petercro, etc.: Vape Trek: The Next Generation. The third generation mods are on the cutting edge of technology, (in this case, a saw) and are leading the way for the rest of us to follow.

In the case of the cjb and the pc mk2, i found the durability of the boxes to be a bit lacking. I'm wondering if this will prove to be a much more durable mod....and wondering how the bottom juicing action of the 510 (God, that sounds wrong on SO many levels..) is compared to the carlos atty and the 4081.

Redeyedancer, does this combo self juice, i.e., draw juice into the atty by the simple act of inhaling through the mouthpiece?

I dont think so clyde i have made them that do but this is a differnt.I didnt like self feeding myself.I like to be in control of the vape be it wet or dry ect. Also the mods that did self feed seem to be prone to flooding also the air bubble trap.Should have your adapter and atty by Tuesday i would think.Oh about the self feeding i was running a 901 on it today and that did self feed a little. Not much of a fan of a 901 i was just giving it a test run.I think this mod runs best with the 510.

Clyde's got wood! :D

Surprised I already got in the mail today, Redeyedancer! What are the o rings for?

The o rings are for draw control on your attys Just slip it over your atty and snug it down on the brass fitting and you have some control over the draw.I like a nice tight draw so this is my very simple answer controlling the air flow.I have a few more of these test subjects finished Another pic

Absolutely stunning !

Very well done. Truely a piece of art.

I remember my grandpa making things out of wood, he used all sorts of different wood and oak was always one of his favorites. I leaned towards the " wormy woods" but i think he told me they were harder to work with.

Any chance of using different wood ? Maybe cedar even ?

Just a thought.

Anyways...great looking model...very impressed.

Thank you WhatAClumsyGirl I have thought about using cedar its real light my only problem with cedar is it dents easily.I plan to pick up some darker woods this week and see what i can come up with.

Oh....so you can use it without the o ring for a light, airy draw, or snug it down into the brass for a tighter one. That's so darned simple. Gosh, I was thinking it was to prevent leaks with the 510 adapter.

BTW, is this meant to be used with the 510 as well? And it may just be me, but I think this atty prefers to be vertical rather than horizontal for vaping, i.e., I seem to get better vape out of it standing up rather than lying down.

Thanks for naming mine after me, but what are you calling the family as a whole?

Gotta admit, I am really liking this 801 with the unrestricted, airy draw.

For the sliding lid, you could easily recess 2 magnets (or 1 magnet and a piece of metal). Put one in the lid and one in the "box" so that the lid could slide easily both directions but would stay put a little better? Maybe not as elegant as other options but certainly easy and can be retro fit onto current units.
