She's MSNBC.

Smerconish had both sides on his radio show this week. His take on it is that vaping needs to be legal to help adults quit, but we need to do our best to keep them out of the hands of kids.

On his show today he had a kid who got suspended for vaping in school. It starts at 13 minutes in. It's worth the watch. After the kid goes off he responds to tweets on the interview and gives his opinion on it.

I was suspended for smoking, seems reasonable to get suspended for vaping. Schools and adults in general can warn teens until they are blue in the face and it will go in one ear and out the other. That will never change no matter how many rules/regulations/laws are put in place.

I got suspended for smoking, got my a.. beat many times and it didnt stop me. I was a good kid. Thats just where I fit in.
I smoked in school from 4th grade up. I didn't get busted until the last quarter of my senior year. My parents were so ...... I got caught. They had already given up the smoking battle well before then. I was grounded for a month for getting caught.

I had been smoking in the house with permission since I was 14. During my Senior year I got suspended for smoking on school property. Had been off campus for lunch and honestly couldn't remember if I had been smoking coming back or not...probably was. Mom had to come to school...she was furious and said I had their permission to smoke. No good. 3 day suspension.
Silence all the way home in the car - I just knew I was in for a world of hurt !
Got in the driveway, Mom turned off the car, handed me the keys and said "Have fun !".
...Wow !

I started in junior high. I had always been one of the smart kids. Advanced classes and so on but I never fit in there. I just wanted to be one of the cool kids. Boy what a mistake
I didn't give a crap about cool. My first smoke was a Kool and I fell in love.

Was't a problem at our house, we all bought our smokes buy the case.
Cigarettes were the last thing my daddy was worried about! Being a single father he had more things to worry about.
As a parent of this age group, I have more things to worry about than vaping. (Most parents or more worried about opioid)

The world has definitely changed. Scary enough for our parents, can't imagine trying to raise a teen these days, especially with internet to give them ideas of new things to try and making literally everything you can imagine accessible.

One thing I’m very firm with was I never sugar coated anything with my son. Real life is hard and people do crazy and stupid stuff.

I guess I lucked out. My daughter just left her teen years behind; she's 20 now. My son is 25. Neither of them vapes, smokes, drinks, or does drugs.

No wait, my daughter has become a coffee fiend. She even has a "Death Before Decaf" shirt.

Phrases like "on the increase" are scare tactics because they tell you nothing you didn't know, it's NEW. I would hope adult use has increased at least 900% since 2011 and unless kids were way ahead of adults then, a 900% increase is still not large (in real usage, not just trying a Blu once which was the main usage back then). They could have said an infinite increase in the last 10 years but then it would have been obvious the starting number was zero.

It wouldnt be if they finished that sentence. It should have read "on the increase but traditional tobacco use on the decline".
